ok my flowering space is 3 foot high x 1 foot 10 inches wide and im wondering what everyone recommends plants wise. im tossing between two plants side by side under thier own seperate scrog or one plant to take the whole space under a scrog

the light im looking at will either be a 250w HPS or a 90w LED UFO. still torn, and ive got about 1-2 weeks to decide!

Me personally id go one plant under a scrog with the 250w hps. You'd get more out of it with the 250. A 90w LED would still work really well but wouldnt yield as much. If you could get a 200w LED you would still get a good yield and keep the cab cooler...

I was really keen on the two plants going at the same time cause the missus prefers a nice indica while i prefer a strong sativa.
So I could do both at the same time but everyone is making me change my mind lol

Progress on my cabinet :)

After trying to come up with a clean simple easy way to keep it as stealth as possible ive decided to glue the front together and have an access door from the rear lol. i was trying to avoid it but it makes sense and keeps it clean

I took the rear backing off, lined up the drawer lids and glued them in and then fastened them to the cabinet with some screws to keep it nice and tight.

I then used the backing board to cover it all up and give it a smooth front that im most likely going to cover with some white sheeting

thats my progress so far, going to try and decide what im doing with it on the inside, until then ill work on the door and lock for it :)

Thanks Mo!

Ive got the wood for the door, base and partitioner.. still undecided if i want to section off about 200mm of it on the side and stick my 130w CFL in there to hold a cramped and trimmed mother or two in there :/ i keep second guessing myself lol. if i didnt know better id think i was a girl the way i keep changing my mind lol

This is day 6, starting to see secondary leaves pop out now all aside from little miss Kandy Kush.
She is rather lanky and bends allot, Ive made a make shift stand to prop her up lol

She has about 4 little roots coming out that are all a nice white but the longest root looks brownie
Is that possible root rot? already?

a little bit of work and ive got the base on, some roller wheels to help roll it around and i might get the door on tomorrow and the backing board to clean it all up and stop light from passing through :)

Shit yeah man :)

I reckon you could go 2 flowering easy and still have space for a mother/cloning section. Or just get a 400w and deck out the whole space with 2 scrogged plants and get another small cabinet for the mother/clones :D

Thanks for that bozo, you just made it even harder for me top decide on the appropriate light to use lol

Keep it real i have to leave it abit wet because it gets so hot here by the time i get back from work the rockwool has lost allot of that moisture. I take the pics in the morning after i have left the air stone on for a minute to water everything

Thanks Mo! I'm pretty set on it being a flowering only cab now, im still figuring out the strongest light i can use and then what kind of fan i could use to keep it ultra quiet.
I'm in a predicament, i want a strong light but I'd need a strong fan to keep it cool and a strong fan would be loud. Still got a few weeks to decide. By then the plants should be ready to flower

Day 8, All was going well until we had a day where it reached 40 degrees Celsius here which equals to 104 Fahrenheit.
The THC Bomb rochwool almost completely dried up and that left it very floppy and droopy. I watered her and she propped back up but still a little shaky so ive given her some aid to stand up abit lol.

And the Kandy Kush shot up sky high from the start and was left with a thin stalk, so ive given her a mini prison until she learns to play nice and grow a little bigger :)

Ive added 3ml of Hydrogen Peroxide and 0.5ml of SuperThrive into the water as i noticed what i believe to be signs of root rot, the water was slimy and icky and a couple of small roots where thinner and browny.

The new water in the res, along with cleaning it out thoroughly and adding the Peroxide and SuperThrive seems to have helped. Hopefully all goes well and back on track! :)

And the steelstack x Skunk seems to be doing the best out of the lot. Plenty of root growth and the fan leafs and stalk tower over the THC Bomb and Kandy Kush in comparison

The cabinet is getting there, i have doors and wheel and i just need to cut the backing board to space, seal it and then add my reflective film and ill be another step closer to completing it :)
No rush, i can still use my tent for another month :) Do it slowly and do it right!

praiseoden, nice setup your building.. I cant wait to see the finished product. and I like that mini prison from a wine bottle lol .. Superthrive is organic and a quick search on google will show you that alot of people get root rot from using superthrive or any organic nutrient in a hydro setup. Ive used it in dirt and honestly its nothing special.. Im curious why you have a heater in your res? Do you know the temp of your res?

Thanks man, im slowly putting it together and im hoping it'll turn out as well as it is in my head :)
I've read good things about using superthrive in hydro so I'll see how it goes hey, hopefully the hydrogen peroxide will stop any rot from starting :)

And to be honest i goofed with the heater and that was probably the cause of the root rot.
When hand watering I've read that they recommend not hot or cold but warm water and i thought i needed to do the same to the reservoir.
My simple lesson learnt the hard way Haha

Coming together really nicely dude :D wont be long and you'll be growing some dank buds!!

Keep a very close eye on the water hey, even if it means flushing the res every few days in the heat. With hot weather it will build up pretty quickly and once it takes hold you wont get rid of it easily!

You're right about the fans too, a 400w puts out some heat so you'll need a big intake and big exhaust to keep the air moving. Have you looked into T5HO lighting? You may be able to get some 4 or 8 bulb fixtures in there that would make up close to 400w. Would be a bit cooler to run too. But in saying all this, did you end up getting an air cooled hood? If so you could have a small a/c unit that blows through the ducting to cool it...probably a bit expensive for what you need though and not so stealthy lol

I have the main res sitting in a bigger container with cold water and on hot days i have a big ice block to add in to help keep it a little lower

Would a 400w T5 system give me thick nugs like a 250w hps?
I don't really care what i use, whether it new T5, LED, HPS, CFL as long as I'll be able to control the heat with an air system that won't be too loud and also create nice thick buds abs nor airy ones. Or am i asking for too much because im trying to keep it stealth as well?

400w of t5's would give you thicker buds actually because you can keep the light closer to them, however 400w of t5's will still put out a fair bit of heat. Not as much as a 400hps but still a fair bit. Any light you put in there will still put out heat hey. Maybe even look into a cross over hps/mh light. Only problem with that is they only work on digital ballasts....
