Inconsistant LEDs? back it up. FYI you don't know how much I paid for those LEDs, or even if i paid for them at all. stop winking at me. You can go ahead and go all day long with the accusations. As long as you keep NOT backing any of it up, they don't mean shit.

Boy's, boy's....It looks like I stepped away from the computer on the right day. I come back online and check out a thread that I thought was headed in a positive direction, and what do I find.....2nd graders...If either one of you even dare responding to this reply in anything other then a positive matter, there will be consequence...LOL, now drop it! Have you made any progress MB?

my zipper came in today. 108" #3 coil zipper. I will be making new and improved access door for the bottom opening of my cabinet tomorrow.FYI Coil zippers are flexable, can be used around tight corners and whatnot.

Killer, sounds like a nice up grade...Man I was looking at my light set-up tonight and it is getting pretty nice...4 600w hps in Cool sun reflectors using Galaxy dig ballasts..Pretty bright in there! My temps are 60-65 lights off, and 75-80 on...I use a 8" Vortex to draw air through only two of the reflectors, this bumps up the exhaust power quite abit rather then run it through all 4. Anyhow, are those zippers iron on, or do you have to sew them on?

Sounds like you've got plenty of light. Have you thought about using one of those 600w HPS lights as a MH light instead. That would be the best way to go in my opinion. your plants will thrive best where the HPS red light spectrum overlapse with the MH blue spectum creating a FULL spectrum. Your temps look good. How many times a minute is the air being circulated through your room? vortex is an awesome fan, good shit.
My zipper is not an iron on, but was easy to sew. instead of using pins and needles to hold the zipper down like chicks do (lord dangly tits). I just tape the zipper down where it needs to be because the tape helps seal the sides ayway, and then i sew it on. The door took me about an hour to make

Nice, good idea with the tape, I think there is a specific tape used for that application..What kind of tape did you use? Have you used gorilla tape before? Stuff is great! Yeah I have thought about the MH, but until they put out a 600w MH, I am going to use HPS. I have two of the lights kicked at an angle giving a very nice BEAM of light that seems to hit the bottom branches alittle better. I have my intake fan "14w muffin fan" running while the lights are on, and a Cap product called a "TMP Dne" that thermostatically controls the exhaust fan, it has day and night settings. Also I have a 6" can fan that pulls air from the Veg room 18 hours a day and blows dirrectly into the canopy of the bloom area. The veg room is cooler while the lights are on in the bloom room, but when lights are off, the veg room is warmer due to a heater that kicks on.
12pm lights off veg. Heater turns on, can fan turns on
6pm lights on veg & bloom, muffin fan on
6am lights off bloom, muffin fan off
This pattern seems to keep the best constant temps, with a limited drop of 10-20deg. I would say on average about 12-14deg.
Oh to answer your question about how many times a minute air circulates through the room, I am not exactly sure, due to my veg room being passively connected to the bloom room, but my entire area is 12x12x8 which is 1072sq ft. The vortex is rated @ 747, so every 1.3? min, the air is exchanged. This is of course is not exact, and I have not worried about it very much, I have had alot of other things to get "in the ball park", and I usually run the fan off the air conditioner also...So instead of getting all the math just right, I have focused on temps, and left it at that. Once I figure out how I want to deliver CO2 to the room, I will stick with this system.

thanks, yes i have been using guerilla tape, also metal foil tape works well. MH conversion bulbs are compatible with HPS ballasts, they do make them. This bulb is one of the best. All you need to do is screw it in. High Tech Garden Supply Rollitup recommends exchanging air in the room 3-5 times per minute. Fresh air is important. My only concern would be that.. when the vortex is sucking air out of your veg room the passive intake should be low to the ground allowing for an "even" exchange of air through your room. The exhaust and intake should be far apart as possable so ALL the air may be exchanged. Sounds like you have a plan, How many plants will you be growing?

Yeah I have been debating on moving my intake lower, or possibly splitting it with a Y, but I use the powered intake to cool off the top of the canopy at this point, and use oscillating fans for under the canopy. I will most likely get a second exhaust fan for the veg room, and I will have a close to perfect ventilation. As far as how many plants, I like to have 40 plants total, and harvest every month. So 20 of them are a month back, and I just keep them rotating..
two words..... fuuuucccccckkkk yyyyyyeeeaaaahhhh.
Thats two long words....Thanks

Oh yeah, I checked out that MH bulb..I have used the 1000w version of that bulb with good results, the better bulb in my opinion is there "warm" bulb, it has an enhanced spectrum, and blooms very well..If I recall it right, I get 19oz off four plants with that bulb. The big problem with that conversion bulb is that I will drop 35000 lumens!~ No way am I going to do that...I use standard Eye HPS bulbs that put out 85000 lumens...
High Tech Garden Supply
But when they come out with a 80000lumen MH, I may look into it~
As far as distance between my intake and exhaust, they are how do you say..Kidy Corner from each other across the room.

Ya that works too.HPS bulbs do put out more lumens than MH bulbs. But how many of those lumens are in the blue spectrum? The eye hortilux bulb link is saying 20-25%. So that would mean rouphly 17,000 of those lumens are in the blue spectrum, instead of 50,000. Both are really good bulbs.

Yeah, and that is good enough for me altleast for a bloom bulb.. I don't remember if you posted what type of bulb you are using?

I was using the shitty growbright for a couple years. about 4 months ago i bought the sunmaster "nuetral" spectrum 400w conversion bulb for flowering because it has UVB. I do really like the specs on eye hortilux's super HPS bulb though, and would probly buy one if they were cheaper. The problem is that I can only fit one HID light in my growspace , otherwise I'd probly get 3 lights.2 HPS lights going on the sides with a MH in the middle. was wondering have you ever used this stuff before? it sounds so tempting. I have not used the purple maxx yet, I have used Bushmaster, and I am going to use Gravity on the next grow. Are you thinking about checking it out? I can get some info on it if you want. I am not that big of the whole "purple" thing...LOL, bag apeal is cool and all, but what is the big deal if your buds are purple?
Why don't you like the specs on the Eye bulbs? And what do you think about the UVB?
You need a larger box to grow in!

I would not use it for the purple effect, which only happens to a handful of strains I hear with Purple Maxx. The reason I would buy it is because it stacks your nodes close together like bushmaster but ALSO produces massive crystalization(says the description)

I think UVB is great for plants. Ecspecially the strains that are indiginous to equitorial regions and other places that have high UVB naturally outdoors. Thay have evolved to use UVB very effectivley. Indoor UVB is much more complex than adding a simple lizard light to your grow, contrary to what tahoe and other idiots think.

how so what? why the lizard lights DON't work effectively. how plants have adapted to uvb. or how is uvb beneficial? which subject would you like me to elaborate on?
