calcium deficiency ?

Hi Everyone,

Looking for help here, my girl is showing bad sign and red/purple stem/leaf , brown spot on leaf.
I'm thinking about calcium def ?

My tap water is 125ppm, 6.5ph, runoff at 250 low 5.x ph.

I've been flushing but ph is lower everyday, hard to maintain.
Been thinking about adding cal&mag ?

Thank you.

Sorry I meant the medium , because if it's in soil that pH is too low. Edit sorry all I saw was the 5.x
Hahaha sorry, should have known better :) yah this one in particular is in soil. Would only low ph cause this ? so bringing her back tin the 6.5 range will fix it ?

Looks like a classic pH symtoms causing issues with calcium uptake.

Checking run-off isn't ideal. A slurry with equal amounts of your medium mixed with distilled water will give you better reading.

if runoff ph seems too low, it's probably because you're flushing out the nutrients. Give more info for better help, like exactly soil are you using, how much, do you use a fertilizer, etc. testing the runoff ph only tells you the runoff ph. if you keep running water through the soil, you'll wash out any nutrients. You can't really fix soil ph anyway. you have to have the right ph from the start in soil, then don't worry about it.

Interesting, this run I was trying to put very little nutrient to avoid burning like I did my last run ( this is my second run ever growing )
I use 1/4 of AN supplement feeding chart ( bloom, grow, micro, b52, big-bug ), that I do once a week then only ph water if needed.

Maybe running 1/2 the feeding chart ?

I'm moving away from soil, I got plants in DWC and they are doing just fine, no need to care about soil just the reservoir.

Fo4get runoff checking madness .... if you ph the water / feed going in at the proper ph “ matched “ to your medium then u are golden ...... you complicate it. When you saturate your medium to excess ( runoff ) you ...... “ you “ ..... just leached the medium throwing medium off balance by basically l flushing “ it.

Add 2 tsp. of calmag to a mix of feed adjusted to ph 6.5 before you add.
If you keep the “ going in “ part under control .... then it will be easier to narrow down any issue that may pop up and remedy ...
( plant is heavy feeder , calmag whore , etc. )

Fo4get runoff checking madness ..
its mostly giving false numbers out that can't be attributed to what's going on in that pot, isn't it?

Yes his or her water is quite soft - if there's any other content present like Chlor or Natrium it'll not be enough Ca/Mg. That water will also be not very stable on the pH.
My tap water is 125ppm, 6.5ph, runoff at 250 low 5.x ph.

toto exactly which soil are you using?
It's Premium Organic Promix (https://da.lowes.ca/webassets/images/832942_10552472_001_l.jpg)
Not sure if it was a good choice, but was available at y hardware store.
I'm at week 5 of flowering, I'm gona ditch the soil for DWC hydroponic. already have 3 plants in DWC system.

Madness.. tell me, takes so much water to flush its annoying and a messy. Thing is from the get go my medium was low ph, out of the bag with tap water it runoff in the low 5. So it only stay or got lower from there. Very hard to keep up.

Been thinking about getting a RO system for the house, first for drinking water so we get rid of the refill tank in the fridge and second for the DWC system.
