Calibration Of Hanna Ph Meter

Morning RIU. so i decided to test the run off of 1 of my soil grows. with my new Hanna PH meter i got in the mail. how ever i do not have any calibration solution and i am wondering what can be used diy to calibrate it? If it doesnt alrdy come calibrated.

I have a thing of run off water next to me and i put the meter into it. at first it went right to 6.5 and sat there for awhile. then i stir d the water gently with the meter and it dropped down to 5.4.

I also only have a bottle of PH down not up. and no solution to put into the cap to store the meter in. i was un aware of all this stuff when i ordered the meter. and have 0 money left to spend for the rest of this month and maybe next. so any help would be great

do you guys not calibrate and just use as is? by the lack of responses im getting the impression its un needed to calibrate and its good to go. and i should just add some ph up to my tap water before my text watering to try to balance it out

Calibration solutions are good to have. I know somewhere in the stealth hydro thread there is a list of household items I just can't find it at the moment. The ideal thing is to get some 7.01 and 4.01 to calibrate.
