California gun sales soar, gun deaths plummet, "common sense" absent

Price and availability hasn't been much of a factor for these killers. And now there are truckloads of "assault rifles" in the hands of inexperienced chuckleheads and undiagnosed psychotics, that might not have been purchased without the zealots calling for a ban.
price wasn't a factor the the oregon mall shooter or lanza because they just up and grabbed the guns from irresponsible gun nuts who left the guns unsecured.

as far as the bolded part goes, thank goodness the NRA will prevent mandatory mental evaluations for certain types of gun purchases. common sense, right?

While the school shooting may be responsible for a portion of the increased sales, a majority of it is due to the calls for a ban. Own it.
who is calling for an all out ban on guns? and what was the impetus? no one was calling for anything, even after the oregon mall shooting. it took an irresponsible gun nut leaving her massacre tools unsecured and nearly two dozens kindergarteners taken out execution style.

$350 might be a deposit on a new AR15, most of them sell between $799 and $1800. Those prices were before the mad rush created by the stupidity of our liberal friends. It's a GREAT time to be a firearms dealer or manufacturer.
im talking like a marlin or something. i don't know alot of people who are buying AR's because they are expensive. i just checked some prices online and i could have sworn that you could purchase knock off AK's for under 600$. everything i saw was over a grand.

AR15's are getting scarcer, the prices have climbed, but I found a few locally. Even the local Walmart had one .22LR version, but no .223/5.56NATO There's about 8-10 available locally as of Friday. Prices are up about 50%. .223/5.56 NATO ammo is nowhere to be found, not even in 25 rd boxes. I bought a small .380 semi-auto pistol last week. Considering an AR15, but will wait till prices drop a month from now.

btw, it was a gun nut who allowed her kid access to massacre tools, not a liberal. at least be accurate with your butthurt.
Haven't seen anything indicating she wasn't a liberal. We don't know she "allowed" access to the guns, he may have acquired the combination without her knowledge. You are never "accurate". Quit whining.

I was able to buy 6 ar's two in 308 and 4 223s before my gun shop sold out last week. It's about to become an expensive hobby check out mags on ebay 10 times the price of a month ago.
Check out cheaper than dirt for the 5.56 ammo it has doubled but its there, and be sure you new ar owners don't shoot 5.56 unless the barrel is marked 5.56 the reciever means nothing. I'm a gun nut!

Are the 4 .223's marked 5.56/.223 or just .223? Why in the world would you buy 10 AR15's? You outfitting your own militia?

Lol I bought six but have many in different caliber variations. The ones I bought are barrel marked 5.56 which means the chamber can handle pressures of both 5.56 and .223 as 5.56 are hotter rounds (more powder). But I bought them as an investment but I will keep some, I managed to get them for 1k +/- depending on caliber and add ons (just in time). The same exact guns are on Gun Broker with ending bids from 1500 to 1800, so I already made money before the ban even starts. I also got my hands on 100 30 rd. mil spec mags for 5 a piece (check em out on ebay). But a militia sounds interesting maybe I can get a few more things done my way around here LOL

Nothing like exercising your Constitutional right to form your own army. I mean Disney did it, right? Seriously, the prices on AR's will drop somewhat in a month, there will be an oversupply of the things for short periods of time. Then there will be runs on them every time someone proposes new regulation or if another massacre occurs. Selling them now will get you a good price. waiting could be risky if you get in a cash squeeze when prices are low. How much you wanting for a quality 5.56?

Your right it is a risky game to wait but I am confident that will manufacturing banned prices will increase a little more as they did in 94'. I am going to see where this thing goes I know I will always be able to get what I gave back out of them so no hurry on the sale. Plus I think I may choose a few to "trick out" free float quad rails and what not. But I think I would probably let a bushmaster 16" barrel bone stock go for about 1500, especially if the person is new to the ar game (doesnt have one) because they really are fun to accesorize and shoot.

My husband and I have been looking for AR's but it is soooooo hard to get your hands on them right now!
I was lucky and got them shortly after the tragedy, Gun Broker has them but people are paying about a 50% increase in price across the board on all high capacity platforms (AK, Sega,AR, etc.). Check local adds as some people don't pay much attention to the media where i live you may get lucky.

Assuming they don't ban private sales, which I think they will. Then they'll be worth triple or more, but you'll risk prosecution if you sell them.. Didn't a Bushmaster run about $900 three weeks ago? Walmart's still getting their quota and selling them below list. You just got to be there when they bring them out. The walmart web site is totally inaccurate about stock levels. A local store has a S&W AR-15-22LR w/quad rails for $479, in the sales case, but it's not listed on the web site. Another store had a Colt LE6920 5.56 and a SIG Sauer M400 w/scope listed in stock on the web site, but only had the S&W 22LR in the store. The S&W is a cheapo version with no forward assist, no ejector dust cover, and a polymer receiver.

Just found Colt 6920's and 6940's for $ 1270 and $1495. and DPMS and Bushmasters for less than $1000 online, supposedly in stock. Might call about the Colt 6940 tomorrow! Cheaper than dirt is selling 20 rd boxes of 5.56 for $23.00+! The 30 rd mags you got will be more profitable than the rifles. Slidefires will get banned, too.

That colt sounds nice I have a Colt Hbar Match trigger .223 with 1/7 twist (rare) and love it (my fav.) I actually hunt with it. I don't think they will enforce the illegalization for private sales (did not in 94'?). Even those sw .22s are gonna jump I don't know why people are not buying them. Although they don't have the ammenities of their big brother they are still fun and are more cheap to shoot (I have one its okay for plinking).

You can get some bad ass hornady rounds from midway for about the same. Go with the colt if possible true mil spec imo. The mags are crazy right now, 20 rd. 308 mags are being sold for 200+ on ebay. I got 20 of those:) thank goodness got there right in time and bought em out.

Well, this is too high stakes to call for an outright ban of all gun sales except to "certain people." But, that is what they did in Australia. And they did it with just this kind of emotion tampering and fear mongering. And the grand experiment in Australia is showing mixed results.

They need emigrants like we do, and these emigrant were not raised to be so nice, sometimes.

If we triangulate the world left gun Agenda, what is being proposed as good examples of Societies, etc, we see that is exactly where the Agenda wants to go. No private guns. But we don't see mention much of the good guns do every day to save people from violence. That is Agenda.

No guns has been tried and failed in DC, for example. Less guns, more crime. A sad fact of our culture, is all. We are not raising kids correctly in the Nanny State. Plain and simple to me. It has nothing to do with guns, really. But, I see the slope we are on. And it leads to more crime, not less.

Yeah 0.04 is a lot cheaper than 1.00+ a shell. Great for plinking. But it won't do the job a .223 will do. Slidefire sells a S&W AR15-22 with their stock, lite-pull trigger and enhanced recoil muzzle already installed for $1150. At least you can afford to rip off multiple 30 rd clips that way. But most don't want to own multiple AR's and the .22 is nearly worthless for hunting larger game (or zombies). I just don't see it as an effective home defense weapon.
