Curious to see how many of you have a medical recommendation card. How many of you have a State ID card? How many of you have neither?

The arguments seem to be:
A. Just get a medical recommendation, no need for a State Card that will put you "on the radar"
B. Got the State ID because the medical recommendation is useless. Its not legal unless you have the State ID.
C. Neither. Even IF I get caught, I won't get in any real trouble, this is California!

can you emphasize on the 'state id' ?

do you mean like a regular state id card that has a medicinal stamp on it?

These options are confusing and wrong, u only need a recommendation, not a card to be covered legally under 215.

Hmmm, yes I am referring to the stamped, state ID card. I was told by a guy at 3 St. Hydro that its only really legal if you get the State issued and stamped ID card that you get through your counties health department. He thought it was pointless to have just the doctors recommendation card, as he believes it's legally useless.

While a guy I met at HS said he did not get the State issued card, as he felt this simply gave the government a way to track him and that he is legally protected with his Doctors Recommendation card.

There was so much confusion, I was wanting to see what everyone else has been doing.

ive never heard of a state issued card. not to say its not possible, but i wonder if those cards have anything to do with the VERY MINOR few who even federally are legal to have pot.

After googling, I do see there is indeed a California State ID card. You are "required" to get one from your counties' health department. I did read somewhere saying to stay legal you must get one through the state. Again I just wonder that if you do indeed have one, if the prompts the city or county to start sending over inspectors (ie fire inspectors) etc.

If that were the case, I would prefer to simply not get one I suppose.

The card system isn't mandatory. The original language made having one optional, claiming its possession would insure immunity from arrest. I've heard a few folks claim the LEOs released them as soon as the card was presented. More often the cops will ignore it until forced to accept it(by an attorney).

I don't think it is even in place in some counties.

They charge big bucks, I've heard. Like $150, annually.

I have no direct experience, because my county has yet to institute a card system.

I have trimming to do.

Later.
