a light mover is not optimal. you have take into account the amount of time certain areas of your tent will be receiving less light than others. if you have 2 lights going all the time then there is never such a time period. therefore 2x lights > light mover - every time.Never even thought of a light mover that really would cut down on electricity big time thanks slacker good idea ima have to look into those. It always seems like you are constantly giving me good advice much appreciated sir.
i've got 2x 400 watters and was thinking about putting them in a 2'x4' tent. then i remembered you only need 50w/sq. ft. so let's do some math:
2x4=8
800/8=100 - so with 2x 400w you would have 100watts per square foot. already twice what is believed to be optimal.
500/8=62.5 - 2x 250w is 12.5 over 50 but i would be comfortable with that.
if i could find a nice 6'x2' tent i think that would be ideal for my 2x 400 watters. that would leave me with a little over 66 watts/sq. ft. if you haven't bought your lights yet but are dead set on having a 2'x4' tent, i would go with 2x 250 watters and rid yourself of all the heat control headaches to come. plus you'll have a more efficient grow due to a cheaper power bill from smaller lights and lower ventilation requirements.
hope i helped
