Now I'm wondering if I should just get a bunch of those cheap lights! lol I have to do some more research on this. Respectfully, I can't just trust one person's opinion yet.

100% agree with you. Gotta do your research. I feel there's just so many different kinds of cheap lights that everone just assumes they are all junk. 240 actual watts for 70 bucks is great for me. I was talking with a guy on here about it and he bought 4 of them lol. Really interested to see how they do on a larger scale as I'm only in a 2x3x5 space so 1 is sufficient.

I know there are a lot of factors that go into what makes an LED quality. How man grows have you done with it?

Its definitely better quality but with the 2000 your paying 2-300 bucks for 308 actual watts. Pay 140 get 2 of the cdmalls and gave around 480 actual watts.

Most of us use LED for the amount of light per watt , that's why cheap ones are not a great option, you may end up using more power to create the light you need in which case why not just use a HPS...
I use two of these which light up a4x4

I would then use a 315cmh for the veg tent which you can get a good deal on if you don't go for the top name brand.
That should fall into your budget.

I guess I’m not a big fan of purple lights . These are pretty damn cheap and u get descent results ... just saying...

You know what? When I first started thinking about what kind of setup I wanted to go with, I just assumed, "let's do LED because it's the newest, most efficient way to light your stuff and they're getting more affordable." Now, I'm starting to think much differently getting closer to buy time.
I'm thinking how much light could I get going if I forgot about LED altogether and spent $800 budget on a CMH for the veg tent and HPS system for the flower tent. Could I get some serious PAR with that budget? What would you guys recommend for that? I'm trying to get as much weight on these 5 plants Illinois will let me legally grow as possible.
Side note: You guys see any Illinois medical growers getting their shit ready for January 1st? The commercial growers in the state got the go ahead from the state last week to start their growing, but nothing was in any articles or newspapers about medical patients being able to start growing early so they can harvest and start medicating in January. So, I would assume patients could start. (going to either way)

Those are beautiful flowers! I hope I can get half of what you have per plant in the last picture. So if I'm seeing this correctly, you're running 6 of those 240 kits?

Just 4 of the 240 kits. They are dimmed down to 200w per board as well.

According to your grow area, you can turn to the newest series #TSW2000 or 2pcs Sp250
1. Full spectrum with Sunlike spectrum
2. the wattage can be adjustable by the driver.
3. extend power cord which can move the driver outside of the light easily. more flexible

So you have no space limitation and just plant count to worry about? Power consumption is or isn't an issue?
Just go to Kingbrite, and get you 4 X 320 for $116 each, then go to dejohns and get you 4 X HLG 320H 48AB for $64 each, you can also get the drivers from kingbrite by request, but they charge you $74 for the AB drivers. The AB drivers are better than the A or B drivers, as they actually will output 378watts, which is way better than either of the A or B drivers which only put out 350watts. But you won't ever need all that power, cause running each board at 225w each in a 4 x 4 will be all you need. Also, instead of getting all the same boards for each 320, request to get 2 different kinds of boards, and use a LM301H 6500K with reds for the center board on the 320, then on the ends of the 320 heatsink use LM301B 3K with reds, and you will kill it in there. I use just two of those boards in my 5 x 5 tents, running each board at 250W and I run (6) plants in those tents and I kick out 2+ pounds every 100 days! Other that, don't get me wrong , HLG has great lights, I own many of their kits, but I ain't rich, so sometimes I have to look for the best deal, and as of right now, you cannot beat kingbrite, sure their warranty service isn't the best, but I look at it this way, even if I had to replace each board (2x) I would still pay less than what a HLG kit here costs. But I wouldn't worry about boards going out cause I got over 100 kingbrite boards running for over a year and a half now and not one chip on any of those boards has gone out. Now I won't say this for all the Alibaba based companies, but kingbrite is aok in my book!

We are currently targeting the budget grower, the price will be higher for the Samsung lamp, but we will consider it, Samsung will be released in the near future.So far there is no problem with Epistar, feedback is very good
