Came home to lights out

I need answers from every and anybody came home today and my light was out during light cycle and it could of been off for 2 days I'm two weeks into flower how much stress can this cause no interrupted dark just interrupted light I unzipped my tent for now to try and just simulate like an overcast day please help THIS IS DUE TO RUNNING A SUN SYSTEM HOOD WITH A HORTILUX BULB THEY ARE UNCOMPATIBLE

You should be fine, just resume flowering. Imo

how do you figure? if the bulb screws in the mogul socket, they are compatible.

Most LED's are rated for 50,000+ hours! Just sayin....

If you are in flowering there isn't much to worry about with extra darkness. It's extra light you have to worry about.

And this had absolutely nothing to do with your bulb supposedly being incompatible. They are perfectly compatible, unless you had an hps bulb with an old metal halide only ballast or vice versa.

i almost said the same but he wouldn't be 2 weeks into a grow with a mh in a hps or vice versa.

grower myths always be lurking nearby their grower issues.
I jumped to many silly conclusions along the way....happens to beginners, smoking early buds.....


bad bulb, bad ballast, bad timer, bad fuse, bad wire connection, bad bulb connection.
all can be checked in seconds with a multi meter and easily fixed

It turned out to be a quantum brand ballast that was "incompatible" aka broke lol

I'm running a 15 yo 400w hortilux conversion bulb off a 30 yo magnetic hps ballast. Find me any digi ballast and bulb that can do that and I'll buy it. Still vegs plants just fine even tho the gas tube is almost black when it's off and there's a bulge on the side of it. Might be time for a new one in the next few grows maybe.

I changed to all quantums in my grow for the generator ready aspect. I've used all the bulbs on the shelf including Hortilux, Baddass bulbs didnt play nice here, maybe bulb, maybe ballast I dunno. no quantum has burned up on me, I have 5 1k spares on a shelf in case though. glad you got it fixed!

Always add a small fan to the outside of your ballast. It will do wonders for reliability.

the good people at the hydro shop here gave me a ballast that had a higher price tag at no additional cost because everybody was having problems with that particular shipment, I now have an extra sun, 5 dimmer settings 400 600 750 1000 and 1000BOOST! lol

I got nuthin but good things to say about them. Using a crappy PlantMax 400w 7200K MH bulb on my babies atm and they aren't growing as well as they should so may swap in the old one and see how they do.

Stay away from that Boost setting. I've read that blow out bulbs pretty good.

Getting 400 and 600W bulbs for it to use on the lower settings? I'd like to get a couple 600s to fill in when my 400s aren't enough and the 1000s are too much. 2 - 600s in my new flowering room would work better than the 1 - 1000 I'm going to use. 50% more light for 20% more power sounds good to me.

I've been running sun system hoods and hortilux bulbs for years.

I ran 5x600 watt Digital Greenhouse electronic ballasts from HTG for 9..maybe 10 years straight. 12 - 12 non stop. Sold them to my cousin 3 yrs ago and she still running em strong. The non dial down ones. The dial dealys may come in handy for certain hot days but overall they are a gimmick. And not ideal for spectrum.

Ive treated cannabis plants like shheeiitt over the years. Mostly out of pure laziness or some other fukt up deal in my life. If you know how to grow...usually you can bring them tough sumbitches back from the brink of death. That is...if your willing and got the time. Ive saved many a cultivar from alot of fukt up conditions...either because I challenged myself...I had to..or I wanted to save a particular phenotype/ strain. The worst you can do is let em dry out and wilt beyond repair. There is a threshold. You can even fry em with super hot feeds and as long as a node on the main is still viable..you can save her. Ive done it. Takes forever. But its possible. Same with reveg..late flower cuttings..infested plants. Ive done it all. Ive even taken cuts from tented out with mites late flower crops and came through. Took me months..but I needed that strain.
