Camping

Been planning a year long camping trip up and down the California coast. Not so much where and when but getting funds together, equipment, paying of debts, etc. Gonna just move with the weather so it ain't too hot or cold for camping. Gotta visit Ventura and Big Sur. Basically gonna just go where I wanna go and do what I wanna do whenever I want to. Smoke some good shit along the way and hopefully figure out what I want to do with the rest of my life (might just say fuck the world and camp the rest of my life, do some campground host jobs for money). Anyone else have some epic camp trips planned or some awesome camping story's to share? Maybe some Cali locations that are a must visit? I really liked Monterey so should add that to the list.

That sounds pretty sweet man, I'd love to do something like that. Maybe not for a year, but just to get away would be awesome.

How do you plan on funding this, just working odd job type deals? Or did you say you were saving up first, then just use what you've already made?

You goin' solo or with some friends or what?

I live 30 miles from Ventura, from what I hear the beaches down by Malibu are pretty sweet, dunno about the people though...

Hoping to save up a coupe G's for the trip. Try and stick to BLM land (which is free to camp on) but try to camp near towns/cities so I can meet new people and get supplies. If I can find a camp host job near the beach I would probably do that for the rest of my life.

Gonna be flying solo but I have several friends who love to camp and they would probably visit a couple times a year to get away and visit. I seem to attract people so the plan is to meet people along the way. If they wanna follow that would be cool. If not there is always myspace/facebook to stay in touch.

I had the opportunity to camp just yards from the beach in Ventura. Got woke up at 5am to watch low tide. Bunch of anemonies and what not just out in the open sitting in the sand. There wern't any tide pools or anything, they were just sitting there!

wow that sounds like a crazy idea i have always wanted to go on an extended camping adventure, the most ive done is a month or so up in the northeast one summer it was a blast! i took my jeep and just drove around found a spot i liked and camped out it was all state forest and they are cool with camping...i remember one week a buddy of mine met up with me and we went back packing on some of the application trail it was such a fun and rewarding experience i really learned a lot about myself

Careful with any national forests in cali. You wouldnt wanna get killed over some dumbass mexican gang growin weed where you just happened to stumple upon hiking.

Damn weed needs to be legal, it'll sure cut all that shit out.

Sorry to be a bummer, I will say that if your going camping you should definetely get some shrooms.

I have most of the gear for this, just needing the cash. Also wanting to make a trip up to Boulder sometime next year.

The forest and the coasts in California r beautiful.We often visit the north coast and it is awesome the whole coast actually is awesome from Oregon to Mexico.In Humboldt and Mendocino U could find 420 friendly shit to do and make some cash.Then just camp on the beach and shit.A lot of people do it.Good luck ur gonna have a blast.Oh yea I dunno where you are from but iv lived here my whole life and I recommend having a small hand gun if u can legally own one.There are people all over here that want ur shit and will do crazy shit to get it.

I have heard about those jobs in mendocino and humbolt. If I was gonna get something it would probably be a .22.

Yeah, this summer I'm gonna jump on a motorcycle and ride till I run out of gas money, work construction or something until I can head out of that town, just keep on riding all through the summer, then re-assimilate myself into real society and go back for my sophomore year.
