I think that when you say trees most people will think that you mean tall plants. For that I would say that you need to understand the inverse square proportion law and look into lateral lighting. So I am limited to 6 plants in order to stay on the misdemeanor side of felony where I live and have built some 2' x 4' LED strip light setups. Currently my grow area is 4' x 4' but can easily be expanded to 4' x 6'. Right now I have my 6 plants vegging in a 2' x 4' section and have 1 2x4 led over it at around 210 watts. Each of these light fixtures can produce 360 watts after the power supply, or around 420 watts at the wall each. As of right now, I have 2 lights built with everything to build 2 more on hand, so 720 (840 at the wall) watts ready to go and 1420 (1680 at the wall) potentially available.
My goal here is a huge, quality yield growing 6 plants under my LEDs. So my question is how do I maximize my yield with what I have on hand? My plants are 3 platinum blue dreams and 3 animal cookies. The plants are being heavily trained into manifold/mainlines now with 8-12 colas each. Should I veg longer and double the number of colas? Sorry, I don't have any pics yet to show what's going on. I am just looking for direction on how to proceed. I am not in a huge rush and can veg a while but quicker is always better (that's what I tell my wife!).
Any advice is greatly appreciated!!!!
Looks like it will work to me! Which display/meter did you buy? How many amps is it rated for? I have been using the 20 amp displays that just wire in, wire out. The 100 amp displays are wired a bit differently.BGT, looks great. cant wait to see her flower.
Quick qeustion for ya, i have everything for my light build, and just getting the wiring down on paper before doing it.
I have 2 switches for the spectrums like I talked about, decided, whyyyy not. Also got the meter you told me to get. Im pretty sure I have it right, but if you get a chance to look it over for me, Id be thrilled for your time brother. I will be soldering and shrink wrapping ( like we talked about ) the connections via the strips to a main, then 1 in for each spectrum.
THANKS BRO,
I still need to get a couple disco balls to put in here!welcome to the house of light
It's a strategy with rapidly diminishing returns; How big is your grow area? I'd shoot for 1 amp or less per strip (20 amps or less out of your power supply). Figure on at least 35 watts per square foot up to around 50 w/ft2. More light = more yield as long as you don't burn up your plants. Granted you will be producing more heat at higher wattage, but still more light, more ganja.
Be sure to post pics. Everyone loves pictures. With this power supply, do the strips seem "bright"? If you have a build thread going, please post a link so I can follow along.OK, so I just hooked up 1 strip, everything is fine. The lowest I can turn down the P/S is 10.5 volts.
5k strip - 10.5 volts - 8.2 watts-.78 amps
3K strip - 10.5 volts - 6.2 watts-.60 amps
turned to 12.00 volts
5K strip - 12.0 volts- 15.9 watts- 1.34 amps
3K strip - 12.0 volts- 13.3 watts- 1.11 amps
Both on at 10.5 volts
15.2 watts - 1.45 amps 4,400 lux at 12 inches, 141 par
Both on at 12.0 volts
30 watts - 2.5amps 8,000 lux at 12 inches, 220 par
So i take it we are running these soft, so 10.5 volts is the one to go with i presume?
144 watts roughly for all 20 strips at 10.5 volts (13.8 amps)
292 watts roughly for all 20 strips at 12.0 volts (24.5 amps)
Now, my meter is max 20 amps. So, i take it, i cant go past that, but my P/S is 30amps, 360 watt
BUT, consensuses is soft anyways, right?
OK, just wanted to throw these numbers at you BGT, and see what You have to say.
Thanks
This actually looks like the futureAbout 2 1/2 weeks into flower now and they are doing good. Animal CookiesView attachment 4021924
