The tent has to be tall enough for 1000W DE CMH light.I've been told a 1k de cmh is to much for a 5x5? I've been thinking very seriously about putting one in my 5x5x7 tent

Ya I'm curious how tall would it need to be? Is 7..maybe 8ft max enough? Or need more like 10ft.. I feel like I could do it in a 5x5x7 as long as the plants aren't to tallThe tent has to be tall enough for 1000W DE CMH light.

You will be fine with the DE 1000w CMH in a 5’ x 5’,I've been told a 1k de cmh is to much for a 5x5? I've been thinking very seriously about putting one in my 5x5x7 tent
I run 630w dual bulb cmh in my 5x5x7.5ft tent now. Heat is manageable, and I love the versatility to run either one or both bulbs at the same time from one ballast. My only complaint would be that my ballast is attached to the hoodI've been told a 1k de cmh is to much for a 5x5? I've been thinking very seriously about putting one in my 5x5x7 tent
Checked out the hoods for that 1000W CMH and I can see needing 4ft with the type of focus a hood like that would project.4 feet from canopy.
theyve been spamming like crazy in LED threads. I think an admin caught on, some of their most blatant spam posts have been deletedChecked out the hoods for that 1000W CMH and I can see needing 4ft with the type of focus a hood like that would project.

I'm a DIY kind of guy with 6 sets of tin snips so would think nothing of altering a design to fit my needs. I have an air cooled hood that I rigged up to run a second bulb at the other end but don't connect it to the exhaust fan and the focus is too tight for my liking so it's been collecting dust for the last few years. Those old cmh' s that can run on magnetic ballasts are far less useful than the newer square wave ballast required ones.
But I completely hear you on the hood aspect. I'm seriously thinking of experimenting with mine a bit. Maybe a pair of cutting shears to the seams of the fancy Italian aluminum to open it up a little?
Sonny has always been fantastic with me. He has answered lots of questions I have PM'd him about and has also supplied me with name and mobile ph number of the local distributer of his lights. He also has a great product. (LED and CMH)Checked out the hoods for that 1000W CMH and I can see needing 4ft with the type of focus a hood like that would project.

Some of the major breeders grow up gavw 315w phantom Ii and other like that in their grow space. I'm talking 1000's of square foit griw up.. But i would. Replace a 600w hps for a 315w cmh.. I would replace for same wattas. 2x315 for 600w. I'm actaully thinking of putting 2x315w chm (2 seperated kit) in a 3x5 grow rent this winter.i'm just not sure which model to go with.. But being looking to with for monthsI like cmh but if that were true then all major grows would have cmh instead of de. Id say a 315 is equal or better than a 400 watt.
very nice. how full was your screen before you flipped to 12/12?Got over 500 grams in my 5x5 with a cheap vivosun 630cmh on a light mover with premium bulbs(phillips and sun master) could have maybe got more if i was more experienced and had some extra co2 still had TNB a bottle going with an ac venting in kept the temps high to conserve the co2 around 86 to 89 on the wall so likely 90s those may also contributed to the slightly less yield to but i don't think it did tbh.
