This is the time where a little patience will bring greater reward. The last few weeks makes a big difference in yield but more importantly, trichome production & maturity.
Don't chop it just as it's frosting up. Give your wife a reassuring pat on the butt & tell her it will be gone in a week or two
Definitely a sativa. As someone else said, the shortening days & colder nights should hasten maturation.
Some plants like cold nights at the end of flowering [not sure about an equatorial sativa though] It's frost you have to watch out for. That clear covering [glass house?] over your plants will protect from frost.
'People poking around' YOUR yard? Do you understand the concept of trespassing? Learn the words "Get the fuck off my property" & shout "Honey, get my shotgun." over your shoulder & this should solve this part of your problem.
