Thanks for all the advice, sorry if I'm over paranoid I just constantly second guess myself since its my first. Besides for a few tweaks I'll probably be sending them into flower soon. Much love. Smoke on
I thought this was a possibility. I just setup an automatic watering system so I can increase the frequency and hopefully prevent that from happening. You think I should be straight doing that or should I just pot up? I can do either.Oh, I didn't realize how small those pots were, you might need to pot up. I really mostly know outdoor plants, and suck at indoor, but that looked a bit like water stress, but might be root bound? I am not sure, but yeah the solo cup under the pot I missed.
No. Don't keep adding fertilizer until the plants start overdosing. Add fertilizer when the plants tell you they need it (if deficiencies begin to show themselves).
1.5 EC = 1050 PPM
depends on the ppm scale of the meter. Could be 750 if the meter is using 500 scale.
I am pretty sure you can just plant those into a larger container/bag and the roots will just grow out the sides of the current smart pot.I thought this was a possibility. Coco should stay moist. You're confusing soil with coco. But since I'm doing organic no-till soil, I also try to keep my soil moist, but not wet.I let the pots get practically dry. I water 3x a day rn because the pots are so small, was actually thinking I might be under watering because of how fast they're drinkin. Doesn't help that half the stuff I read says let coco go through wet/dry cycles and the other half says it should be 80-90% saturated at all times smh
Ya you're outta your league in this section, lol.I am pretty sure you can just plant those into a larger container/bag and the roots will just grow out the sides of the current smart pot.
I am quickly getting out of my depth, but I think that if you repotted at the very least those plants would be happy.
I do think the watering deep once every 3-4 days will help too.
Ok, so my advice of putting them in a bigger pot and watering deeper less often was not correct? I figured someone better could answer the question, I just thought I would put him on the right track. I like outdoor so much better because you get to work with the rain/moisture and land to get the results you are looking for.Coco should stay moist. You're confusing soil with coco. You can water a lot less if you put it in a bigger pot though.
These are really cool transplant pots. Better quality than Smart Pots too. I have a huge box of them, but you can reuse them too.

You are correct, you can just put the old fabric pot in a new one, but the roots will be happier if they don't have to go through the fabric.
And just transplanting to bigger pots isn't gonna make them happy all of a sudden. It's not like soil. He's growing hydroponically.
I'm using prebuffered Canna Coco. I might just have to pot up I guess. I was hoping to stick with 1gal pots using high frequency fertigation after seeing some of the monsters others have grown using that method. How are you preparing your coco coir? Wash/ charge/ buffered? and what brand?
Yeah the first thought was that plant would like some more root space, I mean why not! It will make watering less of a hassle and the plant will thank you for it.
keep in mind when you flower the roots really only grow for about 2 weeks after 12/12 is initiated..
I would transplant, wait a few weeks, then flip if you have the space
Thanks for the reply bro. So how dry do you let your pots get? Do you go by the knuckle deep test, pickup the pot and feel for about weight...? My plan was to follow high frequency fertigation from cocoforcannabis, and that pretty much recommends to water log them, keeping the soil atleast 90% saturated at all times...Coco should stay moist. Sorry for the confusion, my ppm on the 500 scale is around 750-800 inflow. Def going to have to read more about the calmag issue you were talking about. I actually started with Calmag Plus but switched over to calimagic to lower the N a bit but maybe that was the wrong call. Thanks homieI didn’t read through all the replies, so maybe this came up, but I do think that 1500 ppm is a bit high.
If you fertigate twice a day there shouldn’t be much salt build up.
I would suggest reducing you to 1100-1200 ppm and fertigate until the runoff is the same. I would also switch to a different CalMag that has cleated iron. This is an important element in coco that helps with uptake. I know the Canna coco comes pre-buffered with CalMag and Iron, but if you are using RO water in coco, like I also do, then the iron will need to be replaced eventually.
Happy Growing!
Thanks for all the info and links man. I see you around here a lot and always find some useful info from you. You def know your shit! So now I'll be on to checking out all these links. Much appreciated brother.Example 1 gal coco. Multi feed.
I would not repot. Feed lower EC. 1.6ec/800ppm. Include 3ml calimagic.

I'm doing no-till living soil, so I try to keep it moist. I don't use coco myself, but I know you're supposed to keep it moist. Thanks for the reply bro. So how dry do you let your pots get?
