What is the difference between autoflowring and just regular seeds?

I'm looking at buying some seeds soon and would like to know if it's worth the extra 5$

So i googled it and found out that autos have a loss in potency.

What do you think would spend more for the auto?

There not as potent as regular strains but its still damn good weed...

Is it really that they are not as potent or they just don't grow as big? Because I've never heard/read they were less potent (just that they grow smaller amounts).
