can Cannabis cause schizophrenia?

I wonder if Cannabis can cause or trigger psychotic disorders like schizophrenia.

It doesn't cause it but it can trigger it

i suffer from psychosis and i found that thc most of the time triggers some psychotic symptoms, but it can lift my mood and sometimes relieve my anxiety, i think it is wise to keep the thc dose low and also use cbd oil along with vaping/consuming thc, i microdose cannabis the last year and had no serius symptoms, you can use cannabis if you have psychosis but u have to be extra careful thats all

I smoke lots of low THC weed mostly. Once your body calibrates it works fine... Most of the weed I use is single digits THC.

When john snow got high for tv they were talking about the fact that old school resin never caused paranoia, they were basically saying the ratio of cbd to thc (im sure its more complex than that) meant that it didn't happen.
With the illegal grow market for the past few decades we have been concentrating on breeding high thc strains to win some cup and thus be the next big strain, so we have seeming been breeding out cbd. Strains now boosting 30% THC.
The legal market from an outsiders point of view seems to be heading back toward getting a better ratio of CBD to THC, again its so they can sell more or for higher prices because they call themselves medical strains. But seems a good thing to me.

I do think for some people it can bring out mental illness but the problem is we don't have a time machine to be able to go back and do things differently to see if that person would end up with mental illness if they had not smoked weed.

I know a few folks personally who I can see the change in perspective over long term and I know a couple of brothers who I went to college with who had instant bad reactions, one of them was sectioned after a few days of smoking.

Some folks just shouldn't smoke weed the same as some folks shouldn't drink.

Hopefully with the world the way it is now we can gain more understanding on the subject.

Some folks react badly to whisky so they drink vodka or wine.
But in an illegal country tokers will usually smoke what is available which is probably a contributing factor.
If they had choices they could find strains that worked well for them.
I used to grow a strain called acid and it was very popular with friends but for me it sent me to a bad place mentally, luckily I also grew blue cheese t that time and that was one of the most calming smokes I ever had.

most all psychiatrists will tell you this, I've had two of em say it. They believe side effects worse than benefits. Psychosis, schizo, etc.

in the us, most doctors, the AMA and the state boards don't recognize mmj.

Ive never known no one who got a mental disease from mj.
However I do know some who did after taking to much lsd over a period of a few years.
