Cheaply 42 watt walmart CFL's X 20
or 2 or 3 200 watt Envirolite HW-CFL's
Small CFL's fire and run at 80 degrees F, Ambient room temp wont explode with heat with small CFL's.
If this were true that a CFL's surface temp was 175 degrees F, you would burn yourself touching it, and it would melt the plastic enclosure around the ballast.Actually the ballast run at 116F, but the bulb surface temp is 175F for a 26W/100W CFL. Measured with a contact thermocouple into a Fluke 189 DMM.
(70W HPS bulb surface temp was 260F )
(just checked again yup)
