Can CFL's that are 100w+ be used in standard lamps?

I'm interested in buying a few 105w CFLs from 1000bulbs, but I was wondering if they can be used in standard lamps. I have a desk lamp that says 'no bulbs over 60w'...are most lamps like that?

I wouldn't use them in a socket that specifically states 60w is the max, but those 105ers (at least the ones I have) are designed to fit in a standard size socket so just find one with a higher rating to be safe. Wouldn't want a bad spark to burn down your plants/house, etc.:fire:

I use 105 watt CFLS, (not the equivilant) and I use the $10 refectors from Lowes or Home Depot.
you can also get a Reflector made for 3 105 watt bulbs from StealthHydroponics.com

I'm talking about actual wattage of 105w, not the equivalent...So are there lamps/fixtures I can buy at Walmart or Home Depot that can use this size wattage? Or do I have to buy online?

Roseman: That reflector looks pretty cool, but why so expensive?! Paying over $100 for a CFL reflector seems pretty steep to me. How do the $10 reflectors from Lowes work for you?

The $10 reflctors at Lowes and Home Depot work great, get the 10 inch, not the 7 inch.
Those bulbs have and use standard screw-ins, or connectors or sockets.
