can chlorine kill seeds or plants?

You really should find out what your county/city is using in the water supply,,,most are now using chloramine instead of chlorine (some mix em) chlorine will evaporate as it is an enjected gas but chloramine will not (even boiling does not remove chloramine) only 2 ways to get rid of it run the water thru a carbon filter (I use brita) or add absorbic acid to it (ditty on the recipe in my nuggets)

this is an excellent point.

Luckily my City is happy with Chlorine... which i do leave to evaporate off naturally, but honestly the only reason i do it is for pH stability purposes. IMO it only takes a few hours, depending on volume, say a 2 gallon bucket for enough chlorine to evaporate off for micro life to start colonising again. Even in RO systems, once the water has been out for just 20 minutes the micro-life will start recolonising.

I used to use distilled water, now I use tap water filtered through a Brita filter. It works great, no problems.

There is no need to buy in water if the water supply is good enougth for you too drink then it will be fine for the plants.A little tip is to fill a container with all the water that will be needed to feed the night before you need it by the next day the chorine will have evaperrated from the container even better is if you can get your hands on a fish tank pump and put a airation stone in the water.This is a great way of haveing the nutrients on hand all the time has long has they are not left in unaired water.If you do not have a fish pump just leave the water standing in a container with the lid of for 24 hours and add the nutes the next day and ph it and all will be good....tyke...........
