Can Dogs Get High from eating unprocessed (not heated) Pot?

I don't know that the question above is particularly organic but I tend to hang here and am quite impressed with the knowledge level of people here.

Anyway, I had a vet tell me that they have had dogs coming in high who had eaten plants....that it didn't require any heat to have been applied but just eating raw pot (like going out and nibbling on your outdoors plant) and dogs got high. I know with humans that this isn't true. I figured a dog would get high like a human if they ate an edible or inhaled smoke/vapor but if a dog can get high off unheated pot then I've got to take a whole 'nuther level of care.

I do know that vets do not know everything. So does anyone know for sure? Any articles or webpages or anything on the subject? Thanks.

Yeah I have pitbulls and they are always getting into my wet trim and they defiantly get high.One time when one was a puppy he got into some stuff and I thought he was dead wont move for shit but the next day he was fine.:)

Agreed...Ive heard of a dog eating an entire stalk......The dog was extremely high for an entire day...Not my dog, but someone I know of...Their dog. He was drooling and puking, and extremely uncomfortable. I felt bad for the dog, but he was fine after a long day outside. This dog weighs approximately 80 pounds too.

It's uncomfortable and not advised, but it's not toxic. Holy shit am I ever tired of people repeating that line. Too much plant matter isn't particularly good for anyone as it will make you gassy as well

The LD50 for pure THC is insane and your dog will never reach it.

Might get serious gas though. Some breeds this can be a bad thing, depends on if the stomach is detached or not. As some folks might be aware some breeds stomachs can flip and this can be fatal. But that has little to do with it being marijuana and everything to do with it being fibrous.

Yeah i got my dog baked once, my other dog was nudging him for ages and he just couldnt give a fuck, then he got the munchies and ate the cat food, and once time my dog ate a little bit of hash i remember looking at him and he could barley keep his eyes open.
