i'm planning on moving and want to take clones up, they will be in veg. i have to pass through a border patrol checkpoint where they have drug dogs.

now, i've gotten caught there before, i had a CLEAN brand new pipe in my glove box, the dog smelt residue in my car but there was nothing... and because of that residue smell the pipe automatically became "dirty" and i got a ticket for $$1000. i don't want to experience that again...

Man, I wouldn't chance it... If you have friends up there that you can trust, maybe you can mail the clones to them so your vehicle is clean for the trip...
I'd hate to see the feds try to nail you for some kind of smuggling charge or something...

Don't do it. Plain and simple. Clones are easy to come by, and your grow gear is not illegal, because it's for your tomatoes.

yeah, that's an option. i mail weed all the time, but would a clone last in a over night shipping carrier? i've received cuttings from other legal plants, but they were just in plastic wrap in an envelope, those worked, but would this work for weed

true, i guess i wouldn't do it if the risk outweighs the benefit.. i still might ship some of my grow setup because i'm sure it had odor residue

I've never sent or received a mj clone but I've heard of people doing it... They say to do it priority 2-3 day, not overnight. ;)

I think the dogs will definitely smell your clones no matter what you do to them. They will even smell if you handled the clones before leaving. If you put a clone in a small plastic bag with a little bit of water - blow some air into the bag an tie a know. This way you can send a clone with no problem - it will survive easily.

use DHL. put rooted clones in a cylindrical plastic container with paper towels covering the roots, then buy a huge candle, saw in half, and hollow out enough room inside for the clone container. use a lighter to re-seal the candle. mail this and you should be straight. some genetics are worth it if you cant get them elsewhere. attitude seedbank is stealth for seeds and reliable if you decide not to bring clones.

why priority and not overnight? that's with usps, wouldn't a private company better?
My grower friend who worked at USPS for 30 years says that since there are SO many priority 2 -3 day packages / shipments, they generally leave them alone (unless they reel=k to high heaven), but since there are not nearly as many overnight packages, its easier for the sniffer doggies to check them all. Also, private companies (UPS, FedEx) don't need a warrant to open a package, they reserve the right to inspect any package in their system.
Post office has to get a warrant to open mail :)

Think about it...

true, when you put it that way it makes perfect sense.

i wish i knew exactly what it was the dogs were smelling, like if there is something in a unflowered clone that legal plants don't have...
