Can I added mono potassium phosphate

Hi

I don't know if I can or should add mono potassium phosphate.

So I've a 220litre Res and 8 auto pots in Coco and clay balls

Currently I mix up a Res of 35ml per litre canna a and b
Moon shine 1ml per litre
Advanced big bud 2ml per litre
Silica about 20ml
Cal mag 1ml per litre


The mono potassium phosphate is 99.9% pure. What I found online search is 1g per 100litres

Flipped to flower on the 7th of jan


Please any advise is greatly welcome

I tried silica one time, and it made my pistils turn brown. Im not sold on extra silica, for silicas sake. In organic, and soil I would get any silica from greensand, and/or AZOMTE, but not to specifically target silica. Kelp too.

Im not sold on added silica, and feel the stems ect will be just fine if I give them all known elements known to make weed healthy. As far as I know for now, Silica is not an essential element for weed, and they get enough in general feeding schedules. They do not show deficiencies if not supplemented with silica. I feel it is a money grab. Like many things weed related.

1) MPK is acidic, check your pH.
2) every 1g of MPK you add per 100L is a 2.3ppm increase of P and a 2.8 ppm increase K. How much P and K do you have already and how much do you want. I usually run about 70ppm P and 160ppm K (160ppm P2O4, and 190 ppm K2O).

2.3:2.8 >> 70:160 which means MPK is a good P source but has too much P to be your sole K source.

Wanted to add my 2c here as well because I'm not sold on them either but who knows.
1) tapwater averages 5ppm Si (a bit less than rivers)
2) ground/wellwater averages 100ppm Si
3) The earth's crust is 90% silicates - if you have dirt in your pot you have Si
4) increasing the Si of your tap water to match groundwater might be beneficial - how much of the soil silicates are available to the plant through microorganisms is unknown
5) 20mL of 3% SiO2 silicates per L ends up around 300ppm, which is very high imo

My personal opinion is that the 5% Si in tap water plus the silicates in soil are enough. I also add crushed lava rock to my soil which are mostly Si, Fe, Mg, Al, Ca, and trace metals but I think any soil with clay content (all soils) would have enough of the same.

Edit to say I could see silicates making a big difference if you are growing in perlite or something inert.

DOnt know about the Pure Powder, but the Rock Nutrients sure look like a lot of overpriced, and hyped products. Way to expensive for what is needed

If one is growing Hydro, and Im not expert on all the pumps ect as I grow in Promix BX, and water by hand, but is still Passive Hydro, I follow the basic feeding guidelines, and keep it as simple as possible.

Also they talk about their fert is the "Strongest". Proper Balance is all that matters, not what is the strongest.

Base formula
4-20-38
Calcium Nitrate 15.5-0-0
Epsom Salts
Monopotassium phosphate-0-52-34

15.-0-0/Calcium Nitrate cannot be integrated into a premix solution as the base formula has to be completely mixed in first. Then the 15.5-0-0, Then Epsom Salts, then MPK Mid Bloom for 2.5- 3 weeks. 8 weeks strain 2.5 weeks to 6 weeks from flip, then epsom salts boost weeks 5-6, while constantly upping the base formula 19.5-20-39 until week 6 from flip.

I don't use silica either. I bought a pound of potassium silicate but only used it for 1 grow. Now I use it as a foliar to help prevent PM outside in the garden. It seems to work good for that purpose as I didn't get PM on my squash, pumpkins, or cucumbers last summer.

With regards to using it as an additive for cannabis I don't really care about thicker and stronger stems that many reference. I can stake my plants or use other means to support the flowers. I want less not more stem in my bud.
