can I be exhausting to much air?/Help please......

General set-up:2x4x7 tent,400 watt air-cooled light w/glass,6" centrifugal fan 500 cfm's w/speed controller set at lowest seting, no carbon filter yet, small fans in tent to move air around. My light is only ducted at one end with the other end drawing fresh air in from passive intake.

Had lights on and the temp was only 63 (to low). Shut fan off and temp rose to 82 in about a hour. turn fan on and it dropped 10 degrees in a few minutes. If i duct the other end of the light and only draw air from out the tent to cool light then ok. But what about fresh intake? should I remove the glass from the hood to suck air in that way. But then I afraid I won't be able to set my light close to the plants. Anyway you seasoned pro's get the picture. Last piece of the puzzle here.. Thank you..............

Even on the lowest setting the fan your using is overkill for that area. The easy way would be to add a carbon filter to the unducted side of your light. It could b a DIY or used. (even dead if your not worried about the smell) That would slow the air speed down and also lower the cooling effectiveness of your fan on your light, what you need. The biggest plus is you still have most of the speed control dial to turn up if the air in the room/outside gets hotter thus giving you better control later on.

That fan is waaaaaay to big for such a small space, something close to 200-300 cfm would work just fine
