Ok so I have a plant that's 6 to 7 inches tall. I really wanna sex it but I'm not sure how... I've heard you can clone it then put the clones on a 12/12 light cycle... but am I ready to clone? I'm using a 150 watt hps light for vegging. 16000 lumens
how old is that plant? Im counting all the points on the the leaves and your averaging at 7-8 which is usually pointing toward males plants. Females will have 12-14 points or ridges on each leaf blade. This IS NOT how you sex but I use this way to tell early. The sex will only show when its ready, whether you makes clones or not. Or change light cycle. I've tried.( I did see one example of a guy on here I think with a clones 2 weeks old that showed sex, If i find the link ill post it) The plant might shows sign in 3 weeks or maybe 5 weeks, strain is a factor as well as lighting.
this is all my experience anyways I hope it helps.

just count the first true leave as the first node, the second is above it, so cut above the second. Ignore your small round leaves at the bottom as they are not nodes. They are cotyledons. The nodes is where the sides shoots out. Hope this helps.

It's like the second sentence how old it is, your method makes so sense to me as a plant gets older the leaves get bigger in turn they have more ridges per leaf

Thats why I said averaging. Go look at any female that size and count the ridges.Even my seedlings have min 11 ridges. It could even be a superstition for all I know. Or maybe observation, but I read that info online and have been using it. Thats all I am saying. Hope that clears up what I said. And the question I asked how old is the plant, was unrelated to the ridges statement.

can you give more insite to this ridge idea? What leaves are you looking at are you going off the first true leaves or just a random leaf anywhere on the plant
