A recipe I have used calls for cooking cannabis in butter with water. Large quantinties are required.
Take the cannabis and run it through a screen to remove any seeds and to break it up up into a fine powder.
Put powder into a medium sized stainless steel pot.
Add 2 times the weight in butter to the cannabis.
Cover with water.
Bring to a boil then turn down the heat, cover, and simmer for at least 5 hours. Add water to keep the mess from burning in the pot. Stir often. Your house will stink while this going on. Its best to do this in a place far from anyone who might wonder what the smell is.
After 5 (or even
hours take the mess off the heat and pour everything through a fine mesh strainer. Press the cannabis to get out all the butter.
The butter will float to the top as the solution cools.
Remove the now hardened green butter. Throw out the water.
Rinse the butter in cool distilled water. Throw away the water, keep the butter.
You can mix this butter with honey or use in any recipe that is sweet. The taste will be very strong.
This really works. Its just about the only way I use cannabis.
