Can I defoliate and prune ?

Hey everyone. I’m 11 days into flowering and was wondering if I can do away with a bunch of these leafs without hurting them. I am having major heat and humidity issues during the day and can’t my numbers down during lights out. This is my second grow and now learning about PVD and trying to get it to the charts ideal numbers is becoming a headache.

Also on a separate note, for those of tou who have a temp and humidity probe in your tent where is the best place to put the probe? I’m using three hydro meters and all have three different readings. When using a very expensive hydrometer as pictured below the numbers are also different (but I trust the handheld unit more). How do i fix these issues? Any help would be appreciated.

Medium: Mother earth potting soil
Light: TS1000
Nutes: Cyco platinum series
Plants: I95
Tent: 2.5x2.5x5
Ph 6.5
1gallon each per feed

Yes you can defoliate and lollipop until about the 3rd week of flower. I personally don’t remove much after the stretch is done other than large fan leaves blocking bud sites in the end of flowering. As for the probe I try and get it level with the tops of the plants but there may be better spots. I like to have one temp/humidity meter that I know is accurate and I’ll calibrate all my other meters off the one I know is accurate.

Lollipop but if you are under the misconception that if you clear leaves it will help bud sites
Buds grow just fine even a bit shaded by leaves
I wouldn’t defoliate they look good

I don’t think removing leaves late into flower that block buds is a misconception… especially indoors where light penetration can be an issue.

To many nubes believe it is an issue and over do it but I have adequate lighting it is unnecessary

I would agree that new growers over do it. I also will not remove any branches or leaves during flower until maybe the very end when the are just finishing out and getting ripe. Do you run hps or led? I recently got a bar style led which allows me to hang it 8-12 inches away from the plants.

Your temperature probe should have a guard on it so you don't read temperature from the light or cold from ventilation, I keep my temp probe 3-4" above the canopy with a piece of cardboard tube as a guard.

I wouldn't defoliate leafs are the heart of photosynthesis.

Thank you for your response it is very much appreciated. To clarify I do not want to remove the leafs for better light penetration though i have heard different sides of that argument. I want to remove them to help with air flow and to bring down my temperature and humidity which at times during the day reaches 80+ degrees and 65-70% rh. From what ive learned here from you guys/gals is I should be lowering both numbers as I get closer to harvest. Unfortunately for me I can’t afford a portable AC or a big dehumidifier until taxes.

My temp probe didn’t come with a guard. So your saying put a piece of cardboard around it so it gives me an more accurate reading? Also should i hang it in the center or is it ok if I left it lime you see in the picture, adding cardboard of course.
