Can i do this???...mmj card

So, I was thinking of moving to cali and getting my card...I'm gonna stay with a friend in the short term. Anyway, I called the dmv and they said all I needed to do was setup an appointment (weird) bring my drivers license, social security card, and birth certificate...no proof of address like in my current state (which is sweet!)...my questions...I assume they mail your drivers license like the dmv in my state, but give you a temporary paper that says you have a valid cali license??? Can't I just go to a place on the beach and get my card that same day in theory???....or do I have to wait for my license to be valid for 30 days in order to get my card??? Theoretically how soon can I get my card if I get my license switched over tomorrow for example??? Any insight would be appreciated...

Most places want the state issued picture ID. SOME will allow without it but it's rare.

I'll still have my regular state's driver license to prove i am who i say. are you saying that regardless of me having picture proof of who i am it still may be an issue???...or did you think i wouldnt have a picture i.d. after i got my license switched over?

You will have to have a CA issued ID.

i will....its pretty simple to get my current license switched over. let me ask you this if you know...when you get a california license do they mail you the hard copy or do they give it to you at the dmv office?

They mail you a hard copy. Takes 2 or 3 weeks. They give you a paper print out in the office. The paper printout clearly states that it's not a valid ID. It's possible that some dispensary may hook you up with the temp paper copy along with your out of state ID, but not too likely. I think you'd have better luck with a passport plus temp CA ID.

lol, my id, says the same thing?

honestly, find one that'll give you a rec with your out of state ID.

it's legal, but most places aren't willing to do it.

i've met a few patients in shops that had an out of state id on their rec, but they later received their CA ID

go to Venice i used my NC ID to get my rec until my CA drivers licence was mailed they never said anything

ok this is what i was thinking and similar to what i was told. i had planned to just got to venice beach for my recommendation cuz of the ease of it. Good looking everyone much appreciated!

I agree with Venice Beach, I got my card with my Texas ID. A block away and I was getting Meds. God, I love that place!

mine didn't show up for 6 weeks! When I bought a car the tabs and reg. didn't show up for 7 weeks!
