Can I go down from 24/0 to 18/6 a couple of weeks in from seed?

I started my light cycle at 24/0 with a 250W MH (switch to hps for flowering) a few weeks ago (not sure exactly when but the plant's about an index finger's length -soil to top, i repotted it lower down today, it's working on it's third node if thats a good age indicator) but was wondering if I could change the light cycle down to 18/6 or would it shock the plant or turn it hermie or make it flower way prematurely? Or would it be ok to do?

Have any of you ever done this?

you sure can, it's completely safe for the plant. in fact, keeping a plant in 24/0 actually is pretty stressfull to it, but not suicidal.

It shouldn't stress them. If your worried about it you could always do it gradually. 15 minutes everyday till you hit 18/6. That should work.

your still giving them plenty of light everyday so it wont get it to flower early
