Is that where you have to go to see bald eagles(UP) abe? never seen one before...and you should hit the shelter n rescue a dog.....@ marty ..sounds about right..mostly farms by me and farmers used the ddt for pest control on farms i believe....

I see a lot of bald eagles in the UP. There is a public access point to the escanaba river between gwinn and palmer on 35. It is called the cataract dam. (My favorite place to go fishing in the UP). That is a great place to canoe/ kayak and see them.
This articles backs up what marty said and says they are getting bigger populations in lower peninsula also.

we have a pair of Balds that have been nesting by Dow Chemical for years. you can go to a place we have called overlook park and usually see them out hunting.
