Can i just transplant the enitre paper cup in another pot?

i have white styrofoam cups and i poked holes in the both but when i transplanted the entire cup i removed the entire bottom part now its one big hole at the bottom then i transplanted it in a bigger pot.....can i do what i just did??

i did that on my last grow, but i did it with solo cups.. and i have to say, that that grow was the first one for me that never got really frosty looking like all of my other grows have.. i'm not saying that the cups where the reason for this, but i've wondered if it was.. and you better bet that i took them all out of their solo cups for this grow, lol...

would have thought this would just restrict root growth, i understand you would still get downward root growth but surely this would hinder the root growth of the plant?
were you guys experimenting, just curious as why you would not tap a little plant out of a cup and repot.

my last time i did it cuz it was my first attempt at lst, and i had used the solo cups as a base for the lst.. i wrapped a wire around the solo cup and used bread ties to lst the plants to the cups with.. so, i didn't want to fuck up all of the lst work i had put into them, so i just did what the op did, and just cut off the bottom's of the cups.. won't make that mistake twice, lol.. live and learn i guess...
