Can I keep cloning my clones?

Hey guys, I know there are probably a bunch of threads based on this topic already, but I didn't have much luck finding any... being a stoner and afraid I shall forget to ask this lol..

Is it aright to clone - clones in order to keep my grow-op going?

The initial mother plant was harvested, and now im growing it's clone... And soon I will harvest that and grow it's clone.

I've heard it degrades the genetics beyond a certain level.

If someone could just clarify this for me.
