or will that have some sort of effect on how the bigger one grows? like for example , if i had a plant that was 15 days old, then got some seeds, planted, and put into veg when ready next to the older plant, would either set of plants be negatively affected?

with all the best buds! , wesmkdro bongsmilie

place smaller plants in the center with larger plants on the outside, has to do with how the light spreads and reflects, you'll be fine

Don't leave little plants unattended with big plants. Cannabis is a hostile breed. They might bite, even scalp your little plants. Kid in the attachment was scalped by a Skunk... Be Careful!

I'm guessing that was an attempt at humor? :-?

No problems at all. Only thing is you have to make sure your smaller plant gets all the light it can get for its initial growth spurt

I have mine next to some big ones. 3 7-10'' plants next to 3'+ Not so good unless you have an excellent light which I have a 400w MH and still the small ones will strech since the light is so far away.

dude chill its not that serious..... seems like every grower is 2x more paranoid then they should b.... your fine just try to keep the tops of your plants at an even level so no plants are rejected light, also try to put smaller plants in the middle surrounded by taller plants

I have my plants staggered with small at the front and large at the back with the lights running diagonally, parallel with the tops (ie; stadium)

i put 1 plant in the middle right under the light, and make a circle with the rest around it.now put the smaller ones on buckets so they are the same height as the rest.
so now all the tops are as close to the light as they can be.. i put them short, tall, short, tall,it lets plenty of light down inside for the smaller stuff.

Or, if you're OCD like I am,lol you can use bricks, buckets, blocks of wood, etc.....for spacers to put under the short ones to bring them up to the same level as the tallest ones.(seriously, it works great)
