Can I smoke a sample now?

I know that you will all probably tell me to be patient... and you will be right. But the question I have is do you think I will get any type of high if I smoke a popcorn bud now? The girl is just over 5 weeks into 12/12 lighting. If you think it may be possible to get a bit of a stone off one of the popcorn buds then please can anyone let me know what the process is to quickly dry one out ready for smoking?

NO don't do it YES you will probably get a buzz of it. I took a little 3 gram bud off my kush at about 45 days it was really, really good.

I trimmed some popcorn from the bottom since I was having problems getting to the soil to water, I just hung them up in the top of the grow for a couple days to dry it out since it was either that or toss them outside. It works, doesn't taste great, I would not cut them off for the sole purpose of smoking though.

^^^ I agree with Critical, fight the temptation. Yes you will get a buzz but if the sample is for getting idea of taste of the strain,you won't. Quick drying and no cure won't give you indication of taste for properly cured.

Critical hit it. Those popcorn buds go from being a bowl's worth to fat little nugs, so you'll be sacrificing smoke in the long run. Besides, many of the trichs are still developing, and not yet full of goodness.

But, if you insist on it, I have quick-dried by putting a piece of aluminum foil over the slot of the toaster, placing a tiny bud on that, and running the toaster. It still takes a few hours before it's really smokable, you have to run the toaster several times, then let it cool and do it again, and the process degrades the smoke substantially too, but it does quick dries it. Seriously, though, between the fact that it'll already be lower quality due to being so immature and the fact that quick drying will further degrade it, it's probably not worth the slight, short-lived buzz you'll get. Seriously, you'd probably pull a better buzz off of old pipe resin.

You can put t in a paper bag in the oven on the low temp.

Will this not degrade the smoke? Also what temp do you call a low temp and for how long should you leave it in on average?

My plant has been in flower for 39 days. I would really like to have one of the popcorn's... lol patience is running out... Here is a pic of her yesterday. So this evening when the lights come on will be a further 24hrs on from this pic.

Second pic is of the main bud. I obviously have no intention to touch this one until harvest time.

I guess there is nothing to loose with taking the lowest popcorn bud and at least having a try of quick drying it.... any thoughts guys?

anyways so I really don't care, but to get to the point Im happily ripped even with
the preme bud.

I tossed the buds on the sat receiver for a quick dry and it worked out great.

If you don't care much about loosing a couple buds then go for it.

I trimmed them last night and just tossed them on the sat receiver woke up this morning and had a blast.
They dry out slower than some methods but it is alright, Im happy knowing Im not heating it too much.

Make sure you flip them every once in a while so they dry out better.

Wicked nice one buddy.

Not sure if the small popcorn buds in pic no.11 is worth trying with a couple of others that are similar. But I guess if I take them off anyway I will be enabling the top buds to get more growth / nutes?

Nah I'd leave 11 alone. Not much there yet.

Also, how should I cut them off? Should I take them off as far as the main stem? Can I use scissors? Shall I cut at a 45 degree angle to the stem?

Sorry for all the daft questions but this is my first ever grow.

I sometimes vape my freshly cut popcorn buds... and then I cry.... I mean, yea it's rich w/ premature thc which gives me a light sweeping high but it tastes like grass and reminds me of veal; you might as well go buy some weed and wait it out. Practice patience and eventually you'll become a wise old dude who can cure his bud for 6+ mo before smoking it... ahh, we can all dream right?
