Don't dry weed in a frigging oven. If you must - place it in a Tupperware container that has a lid. Dry paper towels on the bottom, weed on the towel. Place a DAMP paper towel over the top of the container and place the lid on leaving one corner well up (I just lay something over it).
Into your microwave for ONE minute at 40% power. No longer - no more power. Run a minute then wait two. Dry the inside of your Tupperware and repeat.
If you have damp bud that just won't dry the regular way or is loose as hell this will tighten it up and not ruin the flavor. I do this only to test bud. I would not do this regularly in the least.

never tried the microwave direction but how does the smoke taste?

I do it all the time, out in the field, pick a bud wet, put it in a brass chamber pipe, use one of those crack lighters but it will taste like crap,...but that`s not what you`re looking for at that time !!
