can I use a party cup til it's sexin' time?

I got six babies about a week old sitting in party cups right now. my room doesn't allow for more than two "real" planters and I wanna increase my odds of filling them with two females. can I grow them in the cups until they're old enough to begin flowering? I'll be using lst to keep em small and can easily accomidate them until the time comes to narrow it down to two and let em thrive in the big pots during flowering. will transplanting after sexing cause too much stress? do I risk getting rootbound before I even see some real growth?

oh I've been following the competition, but I was hesitant to use alot of what I learned there since the growers competing are much more experienced than me and are strictly limited to the party cup. i think I'll let them grow for another two weeks and see what's up them. alot of my grow stress is coming from a lack of patience. although I really thought they'd have more leaves by now at the very least...

you can go ahead and sex them with 12/12 when their about three nodes high, youll just have to put the ones that are females back on 18/6 or 24hrs on for a week or two.so yes those cups will be fine for now but if you wait to long to sex them theyll just sctrech in those . alsothey cant get enough oxygen to get root bound in party cups they will just wilt and rot from being wet all the time......hope this helps.

this sentence is scaring the crap out of me! are there any preventitive measures I can take (besides not vegging in a 9oz plastic cup in the first place)?

its not really all about the experience if u can grow in a big pot u can grow in a little one most ppls problem is that they care too much on keeping the plant healthy
just dont over feed or water make sure there is enough light and sit back n watch i just started my second grow and i have about 10 ladies in party cups they are 4 weeks from seed 12/12 off the bat i think i vegged maybe a week but iv seen alot of great grows in these cups so i say why not just water every 3 days and set ur timer in about 7 8 weeks u'll have bangin buds

I've had my new grow in party cups since planting, I'm also LSTing, cause I want to ...


Mine sprouted out of soil around Jan 14-16th.

They are still in party cups.... waiting on my current grow to finally be ready for harvest. They are growing just fine in the cups, (some lower leaves are dying on me, not sure if its lack of nutes, or not enough light, and dont really care)

So I'd say from experience you can have a plant in a party cup for at least a little over a month and still be okay.

is there a make or break reason to jump right into 12/12 except for a quicker harvest? honestly I have all the time in the world here and I'm not sure I want to jump the shark...

gidget you aren't following your own advice! by the looks of your grow I can veg in the cups at least six weeks! pictures speak a thousand words! thank you!!

yeah u can veg in them then flower reason i 12/12 from seed is space limitation the shorter u flower the short the plant my cab is about 2.5 ft tall u can check out my grow its in my sig

That's why I attach pictures! Can't hardly get what I want to say out in the right words. :hug: :joint: :peace:

Those plants have been heavily LST'd and tied down with wire... and I plan to keep them there a bit longer. (Just checked specifically for this, I am using 18 oz. cups. In case that affects anything)

How much dry smoke do you get from these cup grows? It doesn't look like you would get more than a few grams. Is that about right? I have always had the room to spread my grows out and was curious about this.

I know, I keep saying "one morning I will wake up and it will just be ready" its just not quite yet. But there is tons and tons of pictures! I love pictures!

I just went to radioshack today and got the $13 magnifier to look at my trichs! 60-100x zoom! WOOHOO! (Just need to figure out if I can take pictures of what I see) :bigjoint: bongsmilie :eyesmoke:

depends on strain and growing conditions but up to an ounce a plant i hear on average if ur doing things right about 30gs

expect some slow growth if u do ,
check my current grow - just switch the second u discover n
should be no problem (my queen b plant)
