can I use aquarium air stones? If so how many for a 18 gallon DWC system? And does the size of the air stone matter as far as how much air is released? (I.E. Will a 12" airstone put out more air than a 6")
It will only put out as much as the pump can handle, so if you use a small pump the 12 inch wont make any difference over the 6 inch, but yes, 12inch is good.

which air stone needs less changing then, the stone or the flexible bubble? and is a 10-30 gallon pump good for a 18 gallon res or should I go higher 30-60 gallon pump?
