Can I use this 400watt hps warehouse hps

Hey guys so we have tons of these hps light yes they work. It's 400 watts volts 120/208/240/277V

Now how can I convert it to a 120 to plug into my wall at home!? I wanna put it in my grow tent..

Yes, they will work. You will have to verify they are tapped to the 120v lead wire. Most of the time, if they come from a commercial building, they are wired for 277v. Open up the box on the top of the light, and the lead wires should have a small tag on them stating what wire is for what voltage. Change it to 120 if it is not, cap off the remaining wires and get growing. If you do not see tags, you can look at a couple of more and verify the proper wiring that way as well.

Just pick the voltage you are using.. so use the 120V. And cap off the unused line wires.

Only thing i can add is Buy a pack of small wire nuts too.. also the 120v wire should already be capped off If it's wired for industrial that might help you locate it sometimes the numbers fade off the wires. You might want to buy a little extra wire too (around the same gauge As the ones on the ballast) in case you need a little slack.

dude i started out with a few of those exact lights. they were wired for 220 i simply spliced a 120 plug on the end and they worked fine, but buckle up on that electric bill, those magnetic ballast cost a fortune to run. on the other hand, not too much to break on them so pretty reliable.

Thanks guys but im in a tent, 6.5 height tent and their pretty long lol. I'm getting my 600watt hps next week anyways. One week left! thank for the info guys!!

I would have knocked off the reflector and run a bunch of bare bulb vertical 400's.

Ive never had a problem with mag ballasts, the only selling point of digis for me is how versatile they are.. In my experience after blowing up one and grower friends having problems I keep a few 1kw mag ballasts as a backup or for future expansion.

Never know.. those 400's might come in handy someday.
