Can I veg with CFLs?

I just spent 100.00 on an HPS system for flowering and I am not trying to spend another 70ish for a mh light for vegging right now if I don't have too.....


can I just veg under like 6 100w CFLs that I can buy at lowes for 15.00?

I plan on only starting with 3-5 plants.

Will I be happy?

definatley can as long as you make sure you maintain the correct didtance between the bulbs and the plants, arround 1 inch away
