can it take the heat.

my grow box is 2x2x4 with mylar reflective on all sides and ceiling. Im wondering if MH or sodium bulb with 400 watts woule be too hot for the room. I do have a ventilation duct that goes in the box and has a fan on the outside blowing in cool air but the air is very low so there isn't too much wind inside, safe enough for the plants. Im using clf bulbs daylight 100 watt equivalent x 4 bulbs. My last grow failed due to bugs but both plants only grew 4 inches in 4 weeks. Should i change lighting type at a certain height?

If ur CFLs are more than 3 inches from ur plants they wont really get any of the light they need.. I cant tell U about the HID cuz I have yet to use one but I have had good luck with the CFLS in my grows...

yeah i've been keeping them close to my bulbs. 2 on each plant but i still feel like they aren't getting sufficient light but i guess thats expected from clf bulbs

I have never had problems with CFL's....I have used them for years to start seedlings off.

I use 100w replacement daytime 6500k bulbs. And keep them within half an inch, to an inch from the sprouts. Move them as the plant grows...but if your plants are growing at the slow of a pace...you may have some bogus genetics.

Are you growing some bagseed or something?

I also have no CFL issues. My current girls are between 2 and 3 weeks from popping dirst and they are beasts! Been using 6 26w CFL 6500k (started with 2 as seedlings, upped to 4 at week 1 and 6 at week 2)

I wonder what kind of dirt you are using? What kind of hours were they getting under the lights? I am thinking U have another problem as 4 inches in 4 weeks doesn't really seem like lighting issues as the girls stretch 4 light so they would be taller with less leaf growth...

i got my seeds from the weed i bought so i have plenty. I have my lights on 24/7 for the sprouting and veg stage but haven't gotten past that stage yet.
