It's a shame all the numbers and information are scattered through this sub forum to justify why led is a real competitor but the response from several of the core members really puts a lot of people off i believe

led lights may be good in the future,,,but as of now they are still trying to get it all wright.. an led now will not produce like an hid period! however led is good to use along with your hid,, but alone an led can not even compete.. tests have shown led produces shorter plants and stresses out trics..i called bc northern lights and asked why none of there boxs contain led...because hids are plain out better and they have won numerouse gear of the year awards i think for the last 8or 9 years now...believe me, i want to go led, to save well needed cash, but ill wait,,wait, and wait some more untill leds are a stable.. wright now u buy one and need a new one in a year or 2, they will keep improving,, waste of money like buying a projector tv wen the hi defs come out the next year..the fact is led is good for added lighting not stand alone..i do believe led will be the light,, but in the future,,,not yet..

I agree, but find it ironic you would say so. So many of your posts qualify as obvious trolling... Sometimes you have something useful to say, but you usually make it flamboyant/inflammatory/exaggerated enough to push it into trolling. Then one troll one ups the other troll until it's just a troll fight with nothing to do with the topic.

I never go into the HID section spouting off,insulting and calling people names. When someone comes to the LED section and asks a question I try to give them a informed answer or point them to someone that can answer it. I even recommend HID in the right situation,same can't be said for some of the HID guys that come into the LED section just to troll.

I have run several led and I've never come close to what I've done with HID.
Gonna do a side by side 315 lec up against onyx bloom just haven't figured out how to make it fair, I suppose since the led fans think the diffused lenses of the onyx take something from it so it will probably be 2 onyx bloom (450 watts )up against 1 sun systems lec 315 (315 watts) . Even with the wattage advantage the led SHOULD have something over the lec .
I'll run this in the same rdwc setup in the same 4by4 tent sectioned off with panda plastic.
I'm already putting my money on the lec having seen the results using both these lights.

Yea I think the Onyx uses some quality parts but suffers from too small of a size,I think if the LEDs were spread over a larger heatsink it would give better results.

Was thinking this would take awhile since I haven't even cracked a bean and then I'd have to veg and clone from the mother but I got some grape ape x yeti ready to flower just dying to check out these lights. I'll get this going next weekend if I get the DE up and running in the room(priorities)

I'd like to see a good COB light for your LED in that 3 way,my area51 rw-150 out performed my onyx. Do you have a lot of head room for that DE or are you doing a scrog with it?

I've got some. But I've also got a ac/de hood and I'll leave the glass in since I'll be running co2 although after thinking about it that wouldn't pull any room air with the glass out , it will be on a mover so that will help and I can dim if I have to which I probably won't since the ac/de is only 9 inches in height and there's a guy running DE in the hydrofarm ac hood 24 inches off the canopy with no problems but yes my first scrog may be in order.

I own about 5 grand worth of lights and have about 70 square foot of growing space. I've resorted to taking shit to friends houses and kinda leasing for a percentage. The kid I'm working with now just had a fire due to bare lamp and being a noob. He switched to led and hydro at the same time. He just had a yield from like 2000 actual watts of Kind led, 17 plants went 8 whole ounces.
When he told me that I offered my services/gear.
