Can my plants be saved ?

Serious case of root rot. Took off the dead roots and treated with h2o2. Waiting for great white micorrhizae to arrive by mail. I hope I can rescue them

what do you think ?

I am starting to hate rockwool. Mine is all black now and I think it is terrible. I will never ever use it again.

what would be a good alternative?

Why are they in wine glasses? Roots should not be exposed to light, will cause issues.

I clone in a clonet so the roots just hang there and move to hydroton when there are good roots. Rockwool is ok for dirt but not DWC. I hate it.

Pretty base principal of hydroponics is keep light away from the roots. Interesting setup. But the clear glasses did this to you.
If you get them in better conditions they have a chance, but you've got some learning to do.
And yes, we bash rockwool pretty hard around here. Pretty much any other method is better.
Recently I've been trying hard to get more people on board the seed tray to cloner method I've been doing. No rooters or rockwool cubes required. And needs way less attention overall.

I understand where your coming from with that comment, but these plants are already considered dead. I`ve only put these by the window with alluminum foil covering everything for 1 day. Just to see if new roots would develop. I`ve posted nuermous threads about root rot and I did learn a few things. Gone a long way actually.

I`m thinking of starting over this time with Great white and Hydroguard. and hopefully these bacterias will overcome the bad one ( brown roots).
I am going to throw out the rockwool, just looking for a good replacement. I`m not going to use those jiffy pucks soil starter thing. More like a foam or something that will allow to expand. thick enought to hold the seedling 1-2 cm thick.

aerocloner might be for you.

If you're in north america opt for southern ag garden friendly fungicide instead of the hydroguard. Its the same bacteria but much much more concentrated making it much more cost effective. Most of us use only that. The combo with great white should be highly effective if not overkill. Great white is some good stuff but super expensive.

Rapid rooters are a common alternative to rockwool but they still suffer from a lot of the same issues.

Aero cloner is huge for this part. I pop my seeds in trays of coco for a few days then put them in the cloner for a few weeks to develop until they're big enough to transplant into their netpots.
