Can one type of light be used for an entire grow?

I've recently adopted LEDs (80 CRI 4000K colour Bridgelux Vero 18 )and they perform well for both veg and flower. Surprisingly well for flowering, in fact.
I'm pairing them up with a 400 watt Philips Greenpower HPS next time around. Gonna be stellar

Really? Incandescent bulbs generally have a near 100 CRI rating. Yet we do not use them to grow. CRI means dick when it comes to grow lights.
First, you are incorrect about incandescent lamps being high CRI as a general rule.

Second, CRI is a measure of spectrum availability, not efficiency.

Therefore third, people don't use incandescent (for anything anymore) because it's terribly inefficient in terms of light output per unit of energy used. That's an entirely different characteristic than spectrum.

Only the uninformed think CRI is meaningless in grow lighting.

PAR matters. CRI is irrelevant. I have yet to see a high CRI rated LED grow out yield a low CRI rated HPS grow. Stonerlogic never ceases to amaze me.
