Can please clarify curing in a mason jar?

Everything I've seen says that you should wait until the buds are dry (but not bone dry) and the stems bend without snapping. Then you have to be careful to make sure you are burping the jars enough.

Honestly, I've only gone through a whole grow cycle once, and I wasn't the best at curing. I just made sure that things weren't ever too damp. I would often poor the jars out onto a tray and let them air out for a while. Then, back in the jars. If the jars got too foggy I would keep the lids off for a while. In the end I had good tasting bud with no trace of grass smell.

provided they are ripe and properly matured your buds will feel completely dry, crisp to the touch when you begin the curing process. after a day of being in the jar they will be slightly moist again, hence the need for "burping" the jars. moisture is retained in the stem and innards of the bud, curing allows this moisture to dissapate evenly throughout the bud.

you dont need a "mason jar" any airtight jar will do, dry buds till they're just crispy on the outside then place them in the jar and seal them for a day, "burp" jars daily by opening them for about 15 to 30 minutes to allow moisture to evaporate, after about a week they will not need any more burping and be smokeable. cannabis is like fine whine, if stored properly (kept away from air, heat, and light) it only gets better with age
