Can police inspet your grow?

I have a doctors recommendation that says I am allowed 40 plants.

My greenhouse in the backyard has only 15. But the law says 6.

I've noticed the cops patrolling in my ally and they can clearly see the greenhouse. You cant see inside it but I'm sure they know whats in there, or at least suspect. Were putting up a privacy fence soon to further block the greenhouse from view.

So whats the deal can they knock on my door and ask to look inside and make sure were under the limit? Do I have to let them?

Also, since the law says only 6 plants but I have a recommendation for 40... whats the deal?

I don't want to get fucked by the law.

I would think the law is above your doctor so I wouldn't go past 6 plant limit. Police need either a warrant to search your property or your permission, so if they ask to come in your house say NO!

Exactly they need a warrant to step foot on your property if you say no. There is no checking up laws for anything.

The need a reason to search your house
unless you are a convicted criminal or have a crazy ex girl then you could have issues
but other then that you are on the right start out of site out of mind

Or kids, if you have kids watch your ass, that is all i will say, but you don't want to fuck with social services.
Don't assume they know anything, they are probably just dumb pigs. Now the issue i see is you back up to an alley and have a green house grow, seems like ideal situation for a ripper more than the cops.

if they see your plants and can count them then it is probable cause and they can fuck you over hard!!!!I would get that fence up quick

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

Wait a sec. In your other thread, where this greenhouse was ripped, you claim the cops know about your grow. WTF?

Also, nice order of operations. You built the greenhouse before the privacy fence? DOH!

I consider it a privilege to grow my own and I do not mess around with violating the laws of the State. Yes they need a search warrant even if they know you are a grower. I am considering just showing them my room if they ever do show up. It's very clear that I am under the limit and have no intention of growing more than I have. But the whole "It's none of you fucking business" aspect kicks in and I would probably just ask them to leave politely. It goes a long way still.

First stay low key unless its stinkin up the neighborhood or you have nosey neighbors the cops probably wont really bother you. either way if they can see more than six plants its probable cause. Your dr recommendation for forty will only stand in court if you genuinely need 40 plants and you have a good enough lawyer. If you are a caregiver and have multiple patients I wouldnt worry about it. I think they are requiring caregivers to register with the state and get a mme badge too.

you do realize that here in Colorado , ALL grows must be indoors.
I'm not in that state, but what is the definition of "indoors"? If a green house is solid (glass/plastic) not a plastic tent, would not being inside the green house be considered indoors? When I am in my garage or tool shed, I consider being indoors.
The outside being able to look inside would be a bad thing not only for LEO but for rippers.
