Can someone help clarify this for me.. looking at seeds online..

and they say "takes 7 weeks to flower.. from when? from the pt they break the soil or the time they go into flowering or from the time I transfer them to larger or final pots?

some say takes 7-8 weeks to flower, can someone clarify what this exactly means from a timing stand point.

I usually interpret Flower time pertains to the time to fully mature...beginning with preflower.....autos timing is typically from seed to maturity.

Im doing autos and most say 7-9 weeks to flower, im at about week 6 and only one is flowering. so we'll see, thanks for the advice

with autos it's harder to judge when they started, there is no "hard" date. But the time listed is the flowering time. The time from when the plants go into flowering mode until they finish. With photoperiod plants the time given is from the day you switch to 12/12 which is easy to quantify.

Also, you must remember that their claim of seven weeks is based on optimum growing conditions. You can probably count on that seven weeks turning into about ten, possibly more.

You can begin flowering at any time.

Most indica strains take about 8 weeks from the time you being 12/12 to the time they finish up. Many hybrid strains take 9 to 10 weeks to finish. Depending on how mature your plant is when you begin the flowering light schedule you will need to compensate for a "lag" of time between when the flowering light schedule starts and when flowers actually appear. A plant that has been vegetated for 4 or more weeks will usually begin flowering within days.

It is always better to plan on the longer expected flowering period.

Having done autos for 3 years, my timing starts when I see green.....the stable strains such as lowryder strains, lowlife and a few others finish per their listed times. I just harvested a mature lowryder2 at 58 days.....frow seed.....and Diesel ryder...60 days from seed.....lowlife lemon skunk 65 days from seed.
That being said, I've seen a few strains take a bit longer if temps are too cool....or other conditions are not within parameters....

Thanks for the tip.. it was cold when they started. its warming up a bit.. but i think thats whats slowing them down. im in no rush, just curious and want to increase my knowledge. Thanks
