I would add perlite to that too. I have used FF but the images I've seen, it looks dense too. I'm going to try Black Gold Natural & Organic. It has virtually no nutes in it. (I imagine it's dense too. I think it helps to add perlite to anything. When I grew with Pro-Mix HP by itself I added 20-30% perlite. It already has a lot. Even now, I use 60% Pro-Mix HP, 20% potting mix, and 20% perlite.).

If you can find Thermorock, you can get a bit green bag for $20.
ill look in to it when i do clones ..was going to use a t5 light for that in another tent any thoughts on that

I'm using ffof right now. I experienced nute burn twice in veg along with ph fluctuation which caused a few issues. In hind sight, had I added some lime and a few other amendments, I'd have been much better of. It's very good soil, just make sure you prep it before transplanting. bongsmilie

not sure if anybody has said this but they look droopy as hell. they should be praying to the light above.

are you watering too much? how about pH?
i think i was watering to much now I'm waiting about 3 to 4 day sot water and using about 2 liters per plant

i have a liquid ph kit for water but I'm looking into buying a soil one now to see if its the soil
Soil pH probes have a bad reputation. The $10 ones aren't very accurate. I bought a $60 Control Wizard Accurate 8 and it seems pretty good. You scrub it with the whetting cloth it comes with, put it in the soil for 10 minutes, then read it. (When the whetting cloth wears out, fine steel wool works.). The probe is 3/8" diameter which can be unnerving poking a hole in your soil like that. But, I actually think it helps aerate the soil later in the grow when its compacted. I don't use it much now, but I bought a 1/4" rod and I aerate the soil with that (I filed a tip onto the end).

It's one of those tools that's handy to have when you need it, but you won't need it often.

Wait until the container feels alarmingly light. It's even beneficial to wait until the leaves droop (wilt). Lift the container to see what it feels like. The leaves will bounce back in 30 minutes after watering. I wouldn't go that far all the time because it is a stress. But, it's not bad to do it occasionally to remind yourself what "too dry" feels like. Then gauge when to water by that feeling. Try to get close to that. (The mistake new growers make is a little water all the time. Cannabis seems to like wet/dry cycles.).

When you water, it should be enough for 20-30% runoff. That reduces salt buildup. If you feed light you don't need as much runoff. But, I think it's beneficial to feed a little heavy and fix it with heavy runoff.

That's a good start a good rule of thumb is to use 1/4 strength then 1/2, 3/4 and finally full but back off if you see any signs of nute burn. Why are you using bloom foods in veg? Bloom foods don't have an adequate NPK ratio, and they will harm your plants. A great all-purpose fertilizer is Dyna-Gro Foliage Pro 9-3-6, it has all the nutrition plants need and won't cause deficiencies if used correctly. Also it's better to fertilize with every watering in low dosages rather than every 2-4 weeks for various reasons. One is that it mimics a natural environment, plants receive minor amounts of food in nature over time, another is that it's more difficult to burn one's plants.. Good luck.

A lot of these boutique "lineups" just want to sell more bottles. That's the problem with using schedules instead of understanding what you're actually feeding. You can plug your bottles into this spreadsheet, and the amounts you feed. It will tell you the NPK ratio.

I shoot for NPK ratio between 1.4-1-1.7 and 2-1-1.7 in veg. In flower: 1-1.5.1.7 in mid flower, maybe ending at 1-2-1.7. In early flower I do something between the veg ratio and the mid-flower ratio.

If you pay attention to the ratios, you don't need cannabis-specific nutrients. Anything inexpensive will work. Many use Jack's Classic.

Keep in mind every time you water that soil you're releasing more fertilizer. It might say organic on the bag, but on 4th or 5th pic down the one with your hand in it. All those round orange balls are their time release bullshit.

Grow big and big bloom are both veg nutes despite their names.
