Hey guys and gals , first timer here with just a few start up questions if anyone would be able to help. Me and my girlfriend are curently building a grow box (3ft tall,2ft wide and 1ft deep-with light fixture holding 5 cfl bulbs we have. 5 23w 2700k. 8inch intake fan at the bottom and 2 4inch exhuast fans on both sides of the top of box, all walls coverd with mylar) that's basicly all we got sofar. We are looking for a hobby both of us can enjoy. We were thinking an autoflower strain for our first grow.but we are confused on the strain. Was thinking lowryder #2 but was wondering anyone knew of or had and exp with any other autoflowering strains ( bigger yield, more potent, easier to grow ect) I guess ill start there . If there's anyone who could help us get started that would be great. P.s I have not selected any soil or nutes yet as I am not sure on the easiest way to go about our first grow

I like coco coir with perlite and any high quality nutrients, botanicare, GH, AN, etc... Follow label instructions on the nutes. pH your water. Coco is hydroponics pretending to be dirt so it's easy to get hydro results. Big fat plants are a lot easier in coco from my experience. No overwatering worries really either. Build more height into the box. Keep the lights surrounding the plant too.

things that comes into play with the size of your box. if you use soil or hydro, you have to take into account on what you will be growing in. a 6.5qt pot will take away about 10' of grow room so your once 36" box now has 26" of grow space left before you reach the top. If you did an Ebb n flow even less room. Also the depth of your box, 1' foot seems a little on the short side. Ideal i would want at least another foot so you can drop some lights down around the side of it for better light coverage.

as for soils.... its each their own. everyone has their own opinion on this. i would first start by seeing what your local hydro store offers. do some major research on this. we can only give our opinions on this matter. if its fox farms, miracle-gro, sunshine mix4. the sky is the limit. i have heard good and bad about all of them. its like whats better Ford or Chevy.

Ty for the help guys. I bought soil and nutes last night to play around with the badseed I sprouted ( just for pratice handeling and germenating seeds ). Ill post the info in a few. Was thinking about going with easyryder or desil ryder ( due to space limitations ). Does this seem right ? I'm not looking for a cash crop just a nice constant stash of good smoke . If anyone has done either of the 2 strains and has advice on yield and potency ( I guess bag apeal ) that would be very helpfull. Again ty for the quick responses .
