They'll search your shit regardless, they'll make up probable cause.
I got pulled over for going through a yellow/red light because a cop was on my ass for a tail light out. 4 cop cars came, 2 left and 2 cops interrogated me. When the cop that pulled me over had me get out of the truck, as I was going to shut the door the other cop said "DONT SHUT THAT DOOR!" so I was like alright, and from there he looked under my seats with his flashlight and found a really shitty steak knife I used to cut twine for a trailer I hauled shit to the dump with. It fell through the truck's bench seat and was laying back there. It had a rounded tip, not pointy, and looked like a butter knife but it was sharp.
From there he said he had probable cause to search my truck for weapons. Which he did, meanwhile the other cop had me doing the field tests, which I passed, then they pulled out a little box with a straw and said I had to blow in it or I was under arrest. The cop who searched my truck said "We got you now" and had a white chunk on his hand under the flashlight. He said I had crack, I looked at it, at first thinking they planted it or something, but then I looked on my seat and there was a circular dried banana chip from my trail mix that I sat on and had a piece missing, the cop picked up the one little piece and tried to say it was crack.
He said it was just a preliminary test and didn't hold up in court, I said if it doesn't hold up in court it's not accurate. He got all pissed and gave me the option of being arrested or blowing in it. I blew in it, he looked at it, then said "I don't think you blew hard enough", blah blah bunch of bullshit. Then finally as they were fucking leaving, the dickhead cop said "So you smoke marijuana do you?", I said what are you talking about, he says "Oh you juuust smoke cigars?" all in this shitty skeptical tone, and I was like fuck you I'm over 18, I turned to the cop who pulled me over, and I said this guy is a piece of shit(exact words) and I will no longer acknowledge anything he says, I will talk to you, but I'm done with that fuckhead, he's accused me of crack, weapons, pot, what the fuck is your guy's problem, I ran a red light. The other guy started screaming at me some bullshit we put our lives on the line, you're wasting our time, etc I said you're wasting your fucking time you stupid fuck. They gave me a ticket for running the light and left.
