Can you clone a clone?

Hi, I'm new to the forums and this is my first post. First I would like to say this is a amazing wealth of info here and everybody is great in helping others. So I'm saying thank you in advance. My question is it possible to clone the clone and so on for generations or is there a possibility of some genetic breakdown with each generation of clones I take. If its ok I would rather go this route so I don't have to make a separate grow area for my mother plant.
If it helps any the plant looks to be indica, just bag seed nothing special.

I'm still new also, but I asked the samething last few days. I think you can from all I was told. Search for my thread called "cloning a clone" or something like that. I got a hand full of advice.

ye you can clone a clone, but after generations of cloning your clones eventually genetics will be lost and it wont be the same as when you started...but you can clone a clone:)good luck and welcome to our community, smoke it up homie:)

clones lose NO genetics. even after repeated cloning. ever heard of clone only strains? how do you think these survive?

somewhere in the forums someone asked if they lose genetics after cloning continuously from your clones, and they had some sort of proof that said you do lose some genetic info, i'll try finding it and post it up or a link

you do not lose genetic info, it is a clone, it is exactly the same as the original clone no matter how many times you clone a clone, what does happen over time regardless of keeping a mother or cloning from clones, old clones lose vigor but it's not from taking clones from clones it's because you have an annual plant that is still alive 5-20 years longer than it should have been...the genetics don't break down, they will always stay the same..........I have cloned from a clone from a clone from a clone from a clone I got from Rick Moss that he cloned from a clone that he got, never seen any genetic changes losses of potency or any of that BS, only thing I've ever seen is loss of vigor and this happens in some strains more than others and in some strains it happens less or not at all......:peace::blsmoke:

Thank you all for the response, to me this was a topic that had a gray area to it. I'm going to go for it and post back on how it went, and also thanks for welcoming me to the community. I think in ways of music being copied from one cassette to another and so on. There were its analog it degrades with each copy, but digital music can be an exact copy everytime. The way I was thinking that cloning should be like a digital copy, I hoped. Well we will see...lol

dont listen to these fools clones dont lose anything.. makes no difference if u keep a mother plant or cut a clone before switching to flower.. personally i cut a clone before switching to 12/12 cuz i dont want (nor see a reason) of having a seperate mother area.. just a waste of space and light... maybe the only reason i could possibly think of is if u are selling clones then u can cut a lot more off without sacrificing loss of nodes.. but cloning for personal growth just do it before the switch to flower.. works like a charm..

I am four Gens deep and My grows are getting better because I am learning how to maximize my plant
