Can you smell a female plant before she flowers?

If you start from seed can you smell a female plant before she flowers to make sure you only have females in the flowering room?:weed:

but to answer your question the odor is very strong before flowering and extremely smelly towards the end of the grow. Had some neighbors above me freaking out because all they smelled in their room was skunk.

Please don't take this the wrong way. You are obviously a noob at growing our favorite plant judging by the criteria of your questions. This is not bad as we all have been noobs at one time! However, I strongly advise you to make your way around the stickys that are posted especially under the "Newbie Central" and "General Marijuana Growing" forums. i would agree with the post above me, but ill answer your one last question, plants that are two weeks old are not going to smell like anything. Maybe a little plant smell

I may be a noob but ive been smoking for over 20 yrs and i know what growing flowering plants smells like. i'm just saying the facts there 4 to 5 inches tall starting to branch and some smell just like skunk and some smell like a plant? .maybe its nothing but like i said it's just the facts maybe its nothing. thanks for the help bro.

This is just an observation of mine, and granted im no expert.. but I have 2 very healthy Pure Power Plant's now in 5th week veg, and discovered one has what im amost totally sure is a single pistil growing which only just appeared a day ago. Now the difference here is both plants appear identical and healthy but the plant with that suspect white hair reeks of ganja, and the other has almost no smell whatsoever, infact im not sure it even smells at all... If it turns out to be male i will surely post the result here. It makes me wonder anyways!

I had some male and female of the same strains and with in the first couple of weeks some of the males stunk!

I never heard of that being the case before but it would be interesting if the non-stinker ends up being male. I got 20 or so a week into flower now in a fairly small space. they are too close to really tell which one off puttin off the smell and man have they reeked since they were two weeks old!

ya this is defiantly not a dumb question because I have 4 plants in week 5 of veg and 2 reek of skunk and the other two smell like plant. all are the same strand so idk what gives, Ill post my result if any turn out to be males. maybe stoners though roll it up will make a new marijuana discovery about early sex detection... doubt it but you never know! haha

Sorry to burst the bubble but both the plants i mentioned turned out to be ladies, one stank to high heaven while it vegged and the other almost nothing. Now they are both almost 3 weeks flowering and frosting up nicely :D
